In the name of God Amen I Edmund Neame the Elder of the Parish of Woodnesborrow al[ia]s Winsborrow in the County of Kent Yeoman being in good Health of Body and of sound and perfect mind and memory (thanks be given to Almighty God for the same) considering the uncertainty of this pr[e]sent Life do make and declare this my last will and Testament in writing in manner and forme following (that is to say)
Imprimis I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker hoping through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer to live with him eternally after this my mortall Life shall be ended and my Body I Commit to the Earth decently to be interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and touching the disposition of the Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth

And first I will that my debts and funerall Charges and probate of this my will shall be paid and discharged
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary, wife of Robert Wastall the sume of Five pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto her by my Executor within two Years next after my decease

Also I give and devise unto Elizabeth my Loving Wife my best bed and furniture in the Parlour of my now dwelling house and other household goods convenient to furnish two small rooms
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Edmund Neame the sume of Five and Twenty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto him by my Executor within two Years next after my decease

Item all the rest residue and remainder of my ready money, household stuff, Stock, Crop, Corn, Cattle, Goods, Chattells and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature quality or degree soever the same shall Exist and be at the time of my decease I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Neame
And I do hereby nominate and appoint, Constitute and ordain him my said Son Thomas Neame full and Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament

Item I do give bequeath and devise unto my said Sons Edmund Neame and Thomas Neame and their Heirs and Assignes for ever equally to be divided between them and to be held and Enjoyed as tenants in common and not as joint tenants all that my messuage or Tenement part of a Barn and Yard in the Parish of Woodnesborrough als Winsborrough aforesaid with the Orchard adjoining the same and appurtenances thereunto belonging and now or late in the tenure or occupation of Thomas Bishops or of his Assignes and also all those my two Peeces of arrable Land in Woodnesborrow als Winsborrow aforesaid conteining by Estimation Seven acres more or less with th’appurtences [the appurtenances] now in my own Occupation
they the said sons and their Heirs and Assignes paying out of the said Messuage Lands and Pr[e]misses unto my said Loving wife Elizabeth and her Assignes for so long time as she shall remain a Widow and unmarried after my decease the sume of Ten pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain by four equall quarterly payments in full Barr of her Dower and widow right

And if default shall be made in payment of the same by the Space of one and Twenty days next after the same shall become payable that then my said wife and her Assigns shall and lawfully may distreine on the said Messuage lands and prmisses from time to time for the same
And my will is that the said sume be paid to my said wife by quarterly payments vizt. at Midsummer day, Michaelmas, Christmas and Lady day, the first payment thereof to begin and be made at the first of the said days that shall first and next happen and come after my decease

In Witness whereof I the first above mentioned Edmund Neame to this my last will and Testament in two Sheets of Paper contained to each Sheet thereof my hand and Seal have sett and putt this Twenty fourth day of Aprill in the Thirteenth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith etc. Anno Dini 1714
