William Nethersole the elder of Kingston, Kent
To be buried in the cemetery or church of Kingston
I bequeath to the high altar of the parish church of Kingston for my tithes and oblations forgotten 5s
To my light in the said church of Kingston 4 busshells of barley
To the repair of the said church 13s 4d
To the repair of the parish church of Wymlingwold [Womenswold] 10s
I bequeath to my lyght in the same parish church a quarter of barley
To the repair of the bells of the parish church of Berham [Barham] 3s 4d
To the repair of the body of the church of Nonyington 3s 4d
To the repair of the body of the parish church of Berston 3s 4d
I bequeath to the parish church of Denton with thentent to bye with an aultercloth 3s 4d

I will that my executors cause to be said on the day of my burial13 masses and 20 masses on my 1 month memorial day
I bequeath to the abbott & any honest priest to dmg for soule & all the casten soules in the parish church of Kingston Space of half a year after my decease … and at the 12 months …

I bequeath to every of my godsonnys & goddaughters halfe a quart of barley
I bequeath to Johanne the daught of Robert Nethersole my sonne xx yong shepe called wethers to be delivered at the time of her marriage
& if she dies then I will that the said 20 shepe be delivered to the said Robert Nethersole my sonne

The residue of all my goods & catelle before not bequeathed my dettes & my bequests paid I give to the disposition of my executors that is to say to Thomas Nethersole my sonne, Leonard Baker and Thomas Smothe, which 3 I make and ordayne myn executors … I give them 6s each for their paynes
I appoint Thomas Wood of Canterbury gentleman overseer … I give him 13s 4d

All my lands & tenements with appurts which I have in the parish of Kingeston & Also in the parishes of Wymlyngewold [Womenswold], Nonyngton [Nonington], Goodneston [Goodnestone], Sturmouth [Stourmouth], Welle Wooton [Wootton], Elham, Alkam [Alkham], Swynfold [Swingfield], Hawkyng [Hawkinge], Folkestone & Barham in the Countie of Kent or elsewhere within the same Countie
in the which William Isaak, William Hawke & Esquires, John Boys Gentleman, Thomas Denn, William Culling, Richard Nethersole of Barham and Thomas Rolf or any other ben infeoffed and leased to my use

First I will that my said feoffe after my decease shall infeoffe Richard my sonne of and in all my principall tenement sett and being in the said parish of Kingeston and all my lands with their appurts being at the East parte of Berhanm= donn in the said parish of Kingeston and of and in all my lands lying & being in the parishes of Wymelingweld [Womenswold], and Wells and of and in 3 acres and a roode of land lying and being in the foresaid parish of Nonyngton lately purchased of Thomas Metford to have and to holde to the same Richard his heires and assignes for ever

Also I will that my said feoffe immediately after my decease shall infeoff the said Richard my sonne of and in all those my lands and tenements with their appurts which I lately bought of Ser Mathewe Bro’nne knight to have to him & to his eldest heire male of his body lawfully begotten
and for defaute of suche issue male of his body lawfully begotten to remain to the eldest heire male of the body of Thomas my sonne lawfully begotten
And for defaut of suche issue male of the body of the said Thomas to remayne to the eldest heire male of the body of Robert my sonne lawfully begotten
and for defaute of suche issue male of the body of the said Robert to remayne to the heires genrall of the said Thomas my sonne in Fee simple

Item I will that my foresaid feoffe immediately after my decease shall infeof The said Robert my sonne of and in all my lands and tenements rentes ?fine and fines with all their appurts Being in the parish of Sturmouth aforesaid and also of and in 2 acres and a yarde of land with appurts Being amone lanes called Gararde lande late purchased of John Hobday in the parish of Nonyngton [Garrards in Barfreston/Barston] and also of and in all my aforesaid land being at Rolling in the parish of Goodneston aforesaid And also of and in all my lands called Gararde lieng and being in the said parish of Nonyngton And also of and all my lands & tenements with their appurts called Wotton and Oylsted in the Said parish of Wotton and of and in all my landes & tenements with appurts called Bylchester [Bilchester in Swingfield] lieng in the foresaid parish of Owynfeld to have and to holde to the same Robert his heires and assignes for ever

Item I will that my foresaid feoffe after my decease shall infeoffe the said Thomas my sonne of and in my tenement With all the lande the lande therto belonging with their appurts being in the parish of Kyngeston aforesaid some tyme of Simon Upton and also of and in all the my lands being in the same parish of Kingeston some tyme of Robert Wood and also of and in tenements and all the lands therto belonging being in the same parishe of Kyngeston at the South parte of Berchindonn late of John Long and purchased of Thomas Long brother of Simon Long and also of and in my tenement called Stokke with all lande therto belonging being in the parishes of Hawkinge, Folkestone, Swynfelde and Alkehinn aforesaid to have and to hold to the said Thomas his heires and assignes for ever

Item I will that 2 acres and helf acre of lande and a acre of medowe lieng and being in the parishe of Berham aforesaid some tyme of William A’ Gate immediately after my decease shalbe solde by myn executors aforesaid To the best price that thei canne and the money therof comying to remayne to the same myn executors to thentent That thei therwith shall content and pay my dettes and bequests abovesaid
