In the name of god Amen I Roberte Norwood of the parishe of St Peeter the Apostle in the Isle of Thanett and Countie of Kent husbandman being sicke in bodie but of sound and perfect memorie I praise my god therefore doe make and ordaine this my present Testament to be my last will & testament in manner and forme following
First I give and bequeath my soule into the handes of god allmightie the father sonne and holie ghost trusting to be saved by the deathe precious blood sheddinge of Jesus Christ and my bodie to be buried in the churchyeard of the parish aforesaid where it shalbe thought fit by my executor

Item I give unto Mercy Norwood my eldest daughter twentie poundes of lawfull money of England to be paid unto Her by my executor att her age of eighteene years
Item I give unto Mary Norwood my younger daughter twentie poundes of lawfull money of England to bee paid unto her by my executor att her age of eighteen years
Item My will and meaninge is that if eyther of my two daughters happen to die without issue of their bodies lawfullie begotten and before the ages above said Then the one shallbe the others heire of these porcons of money

Item I give unto Mary my wife all my movable goodes cattell and Chattelles whatsoever shee payinge my debts and funeral expences
Alsoe I give unto Mary my wife for and During the term of her natural life all my Lands and houses lying and beeinge in The parish of St Peeter aforesaid and St Lawrence If shee keepe herself my widdowe solonge & maintayninge and uphoulding the said buildings Fermes & hedges sufficiently and making noe strip Nor wast

but if it shall happen the said Mary my Wife to marry That then shee shall have the one halfe Of my houses and lands and my sonne John Norwood Shal have the other half during the terme of her life She paying unto his brother Richard Norwood ten Shillinge of lawfull money of England beginning -the First paym’t of the said ten shillings att the Said Richards age of eighteen years and so to Conteynue everie yeare ten shillings to be paid Until the decease of the said Mary my wife if She be not dead before

Item I give unto my Sonnes John & Richard ymmediatly after my wifes Decease my houses and lands aforesaid to them and Their heires in Fee simple equallie to be devided Between them
And if eyther of twoe sonnes happen To die w’thout yssue of their bodies lawfull begotten The one to be the others herire

Item I will & my meaning Is that if my wife soe Chaunce to marry that then My wife give and deliver or cause to be delivered Soe much goodes into the hands of one or twoe or more of my Brothers handes before the solemnising of her marriage as shallbe sufficient to paye my Twoe daughters their porcons or else shall give unto One or more of my Brothers Such good securitie by Bond that they may knowe how to have the porcons beforesaid and if he or shee shall refuse to doe this then my will is shell shall depart and have nothing but her wearing apparel

Item I make & ordayne my wife my sole executrix of this my Points and articles truly performed
and I make My brothers Wm. Norwood Luke Norwood Richard Norwood and Bathheolomew Norwood my overseers

In wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand & seale dated the tenth daie of September After the computacon of the Church of England 1623 Robert Norwood by his marke
In the p’sence of John Philott by his marke Paule Hewett
