The seaven and Twentieth day of May in the yere of our Lord on Thousand Six Hundred and Fiftie and eight
I Thomas Nower of Pluckley in the Countie of Kent being sick & weak in bodie but of good and perfect mind & memorie do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to saie)

Imprimis I give to the poore of the parish of Pluckley aforesaid Twentie shillings of lawfull English monie to be distributed to them by my Executrix hereafter named within one whole yere next after my decease

Item I doe hereby make constitute and appoint Joane my welbeloved wife to be my full whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament
And it is my mind and will that the said Joane my wife shall have the power and disposicon of my whole estate as followeth (That is to say)

That she the said Joane my wife my said Executrix shall as sone [soon] as possible may be after my decease sell and dispose of all my moveable Goods Chattles and personall estate whatsoever Excepting onlie howsehold stuffe and shall convert the same into monie

and with all possible expedition next after such Sale and disposicon made thereof as aforesaid She the said Joane shall with Three hundred pounds of the said monie thereof comeing & ariseing by and with the Advice and Consent and in the name or names of my Cosen John Nower of Ashford, George Witherden of Bethersden gent and my brother Daniel Nower or anie one or more of them as trustee or trustees shall purchase land upon as good Termes and as well worth the monie as maie be so to be conveyed to the said Trustees or some or one of them in the Trusts to and for the use of her the said Joane my wife for dureing and untill Elizabeth Nower my daughter shall accomplish of the full Age of eighteene yeres
And when she the said Elizabeth my daughter shall be of the said Age of eighteene yeres Then to the onlie use and behoof of the said Elizabeth my daughter and to her Heires and Assignes for ever

And further it is my mind & will that the said Joane my wife my said Executrix with one hundred pounds more of ye said monies comeing and ariseing of the aforesaid Sale and disposcion of my said goods and Chattles by and with the advice and consent of the aforesaid Trustees or some or one of them or in their some or one of their name or names shall purchase Lands to be conveyed to the said Trustees or some or one of them in Trust to and for the use of her the said Joane my wife untill John Nower my sonne shall accomplish and be of the full Age of one and Twentie yeres
And when my said Sonne John Nower shalbe of the said age of one and twentie yeres then to the onlie use and behoof of the said John my Sonne and his Heires and Assignes forever

Item I give unto the said Joane my wife All my Messuages lands tenemts [tenements] and hereditamts [hereditaments] Scituate lying and being in Pluckley aforesaid and Sevington in the Countie aforesaid for and duringe the whole terme of her naturall life in Lou and for Satisfaccon of the Summe of Three hundred pounds which I entered into bond before marriage with her to leave unto her at my decease unlesse I did by Jointure settle Fifteene pounds by the year on her in such manner as in the said bond is expressed

And after the decease of the said Joane my wife Then I give all the said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Pluckley and Sevington aforesaid unto the aforesaid John Nower my Sonne and to his Heires and Assignes forever

And further it is my mind & will and I doe hereby declare my true intent and meaning to be that the said Joane my wife shall educate and bring up my said Two Children John Nower and Elizabeth Nower and shall find them with meat drink and apparrell untill they or either of them shall accomplish and be of their Severall and respective Ages afore menconed

Item All other my goods and Chattles whatsoever not before bequeathed in this my present will my debts Legacies and Funerall Expences being discharged I give and bequeath to the said Joane my Wife my said Executrix

And lastlie I doe hereby nominate and appoint my welbeloved freinds John Nower George Witherden and Daniel Nower before named to be Overseers of this my Last will and Testament

This will was proved at London the First daie of March one Thousand six Hundred Fiftie eight Before the Judges for probate of willes and grannting Administracons lawfullie authorized By the oath of Joane Nower the Relict and sole Executrix named in the said Will: To whom Administracon was Committed of all and singuler the goods Chattles and debts of the said deceased She being first sworne by Commission trulie to Administer
