In the name of God Amen The xxiijth [23rd] day of auguste in the yeare of or Lord God 1588
I Richard Omer of the parishe of Ashe next Sandwch being sicke of body but whole and perfecte of mynde & remembrance (God be praysed) do make & ordayne this my last will & testament in manner and forme following
Fyrste I bequeathe my Soule to allmightie God my maker & redemer And my bodye to be buryed at the discretion of my Executors
Item I bequeathe to the poor people of Ashe vjs viijd

Item I bequeathe to Roger Omer my sonne Tenne pounds sterling and one cowe to be payd & delivered to hym wthin xij weekes next after my decease
Item I geve & bequeathe to Hanna my daughter five pounds To be payd to her wthin the foresaid tyme of twelve weeks after my decease
Item I geve and bequeathe to my goddaughter Elizabeth, daughter to my sonne John Omer deceased one ewe & a lamb to be payd & delivered unto her in the day of her mariage
Item I geve to John Eastland my s[er]vannt one bushell of barlye

This is the laste Will and Testamente of me Richard Omer Concerning the disposition of all my landes & Tenementes w[hi]ch I have to give set lying and being in the parishe of Ashe aforesayd

Fyrste I geve and bequeathe to Thomas Omer my sonne my messuag(e) or Ten[emen]te wth? one Clevelande nowe dwellethe in set & being in the ville of Ware if two acres of lande thereunto adjoyning wch I purchased of William Amon & Laurance Ponte
Item I geve and bequeathe the said Thomas two acres and thre(e) ro[o]ds of lande lying nere or messuag(e) or Tenement of one George Rose in the tennure of the Manor of Goldestone wch I purchased of Robte. Beake
Item I geve and bequeathe to the sayd Thomas thre(e) acres of lande lying nere a place called Ware hathorne
Item I geve and bequeathe to the said Thomas one rod & twentye perches of lande lying at a place called Sunyd? wch I had by exchannge of from Andrew Omer my kinsman
Item I geve and bequeathe to the sayd Thomas two p[ar]cells of Brookelande conteyning one acre and a half lying together in the ville of Ware nexte to the landes of the sayd Andrew Omer towards the South,
To have & to holde all the sayd landes and Tenements geven & bequeathed to the sayd Thomas Omer my sonne to hym & to his heyres for ever

Item I geve & bequeathe to Roger Omer my sonne my messuag(e) or Tenement wch Richard Sander nowe dwellethe in wth thre(e) acres of lande thereunto adjoyning set and being in the ville of ware abovesaid wch I purchased of Edward Browne
Item I geve and bequeath to the sayd Roger fower acres and a half of Brookelande lying together at the Eastsyde of the last sayd messuag(e) or Ten'te
Item I geve & bequeathe to the sayd Roger one other percell of Brookeland conteyning thre(e) rods lying in the sayd ville of Ware to the comon way ther(e) towards the west
Item I geve & bequeathe to the sayd Roger one other percell of lande conteyning one acre, half one acre, half one rode & fiftene perches of lande lying at a place called Warefeilde To the lands of Thomas Harflete & Bartholomewe Combe towards the South and the lands of Vincent St. Niclas gent[leman] towards the Weste And the landes of the said Andrew Omer towards the Northe, and then comon way towards (the) Easte, wch lande I had to me and my heires from the said Andrew Omer in exchange as appeareth in one Indenture of exchange made betwene me the sayd Richard Omer & the sayd Andrew Omer bearing date the xxxth of Jannarye in the xxxth yeare of the Raigne of or Soveraigne lady Quene Elizabeth [1587/8]
To have & to holde all the sayd lands & Ten'tes last geven & bequeathed to the said Roger Omer my sonne to hym & to his heyres for ever

The Rest of all my goods and Chattells unbequeathed my debtes legacyes and fuenrall expenses discharged I geve and bequeathe to Alice my wyfe and Thomas Omer my sonne, wch Alice & Thomas I make & ordayne my Executors of thys my last will and Testamente

In wittnesse hereof I have sette my hande and mark in the presence of
John Safferie; William Dickson; Stephen Newman & Richard Sander

Probatum fuit: 18th December 1588

Richard Omer howsholder was buried at St. Nicholas Ash-next Sandwich, Kent on 6 Dec 1588.
John Omer howsholder was buried at Ash-next Sandwich on 12 Jan 1583; His daughter Elizabeth was baptised there 11 Aug 1581
Richard Omer's children baptised there: Thomas 22 Feb 1564/65; Roger 20 Feb 1568/69; Daughter Johanna [Hanna] 12 Jun 1566.
