In the Name of God Amen I Job Ost of the Parish of Queenborough in the Isle of Sheppey and County of Kent, Hoyman being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say
First I resign my Soul into the Hands of a Merciful Creator looking for Salvation only in and through my Redeemer Christ Jesus My Body to be decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter mentioned
And as to the Worldly Goods with which God has blessed me I dispose of them as follows, viz.

To my loving Wife Abigail Ost I Give Devise and Bequeath All and singular my Goods Chattels Plate Linen Furniture Hoy Boats Barges with the Tackle and Appurtenances thereto belonging Money Securities for Money with whatever else I may be Possessed of at the time of my decease of what Nature Kind or Quality soever it be To have and to hold the same without Lett or Molestation during the Term of her Natural Life or until my said Wife Abigail Ost shall marry again

And it is my Will and Desire that from and after the Death of my said Wife or her second Marriage which soever shall first happen That then All my Goods Chattels and other Effects so devised and Bequeathed to my said Wife Abigail Ost as above (making proper Allowance for wear and necessary expences) shall go and Descend to my Children John Ost, Samuel Ost, Job Ost and Ann Ost to be equally parted and divided Between them as near as can be share and share alike

Or in case of the Death of any or either of my said Children John Ost, Samuel Ost, Job Ost and Ann Ost Then I will and require that the whole of my Goods Money or other Effects so bequeathed to my said Wife as above shall from and after the death or second marriage of my said Wife which soever shall first happen be divided equally between such of my Children as shall be living share and share alike

And I do hereby Constitute and appoint my said loving Wife Abigail Ost Executrix and my Sons John Ost and Samuel Ost Executors of this my last Will and Testament
Hereby revoking and disanulling all former Will or Wills by me heretofore made and declaring this and none other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Seventeenth Day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty six

The before Registered Will of Job Ost deceased was proved the Twentieth Day of December 1786 before the Reverend Joseph Hatherill, Clerk, Surrogate to the Worshipful William Scott, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Abigail Ost, Widow, the Executrix named in the said Will, she being first Sworn duly to perform the same Power being reserved to the Executors (of making the like grant).

Notes:
Job Ost married Abigail Simms after Banns on 11th September 1755 at Holy Trinity with St. Paul, Milton-next-Sittingbourne, Kent. They were Bachelor and Spinster, both of Milton-next-Sittingbourne, and neither could sign their names. Witnesses were: William Page & Ann Barham.
Job Ost, aged 62, was buried at Holy Trinity on 25th October 1786.
Abigail Ost died 24th October 1798 and was buried on 30th October 1798 at Holy Trinity, with the Affidavit on 31st October (buried in Woollen).
