In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Otway of Maidstone in the County of Kent Widow being of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make & publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say
I Will and Direct that all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences be in the first place fully paid and Satisfied

Also I do hereby Give and bequeath unto my Son Francis Otway Esquire the Sum of Eighty Pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid him by my Son and Executor Charles James Otway Esquire within One Year next after my Decease

I likewise Give unto the said Francis Otway my small White Marble Statue of a Sleeping Venus All my English Books And the Set of blew and white China Plates and Dishes called Quilted China which I used at the Parsonage House at Boughton

Provided nevertheless and my Will and Mind is and I do hereby Expressly Will declare and direct that in Order to prevent any future Difference Controversy or Dispute which might or could Arise between the said Francis Otway his Executors and Administrators and the said Charles James Otway his Executors and Administrators touching or concerning the Goods Chattels and Personal Estate and effects of my late deceased Husband James Otway Esquire or touching or concerning my own Goods Chattels and Personal Estate and Effects or any of them or any part or parcel of them my said Son Francis Otway his Executors and Administrators (Upon Payment of the said Legacy of Eighty Pounds and upon delivery of the Statue Books and China above mentioned together with the Plate and Pictures by me Given Granted directed Appointed distributed and disposed of unto him the said Francis Otway or intended so to be by Virtue of the Power Vested in me as Surviving Executor of the last Will and Testament of my late deceased Husband and by a certain Deed Poll by me duly Executed (bearing date the Tenth day of this Instant September) shall and do absolutely release and Quit claim unto the said Charles James Otway his Executors Administrators and Assigns All the Right Title Interest Claim whatsoever either at Law or in Equity or otherwise howsoever of him the said Francis Otway his Executors and Administrators of into or out of all and every the Goods Chattels and Personal Estate and effects of the said James Otway deceased and of me the said Elizabeth Otway and of each of us

And in Case the said Francis Otway his Executors and Administrators shall neglect or refuse so to do or shall commence any Suit or Suits at Law or in Equity touching or concerning the same Then and in either of the said Cases and when and so soon as either of them shall happen the said Legacy of Eighty Pounds together with the Statue Books and China above bequeathed to the said Francis Otway shall sink and fall back in to the Residuum of my Personal Estate by me hereinafter given and bequeathed to the said Charles James Otway and to be go and remain to and for the Sole and only Proper use and benefit of the said Charles James Otway his Executors Administrators and Assigns

I Give and bequeath unto Ann the Wife of my said Son Francis Otway my Dresden Worked Handkerchief and double Ruffles
I Give and bequeath unto my late Servants George Seeley and Sarah his Wife the Sum of Five Pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain
I Give and bequeath unto my late Servants William Wood and Grissell his Wife the Sum of Five Pounds of like lawfull Money
And I Give and bequeath unto Thomas Bunyar my late Servant the Sum of Two Pounds and ten shillings of like lawfull Money
the said Three last mentioned Legacys to be paid by my Executor within one Year next after my Decease
I Give to my own maid Servant the worst Part of my Linnen and Wearing Apparel at the discretion of my Executor

And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my monys Stock Goods Chattels and Personal Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever whereof I shall Die possessed and which shall be in any respect due owing belonging or Appertaining unto me at the time of my Decease I Give Devise and bequeath the same unto my said Son Charles James Otway To hold the same and every part thereof unto my said Son Charles James Otway his Executors Administrators and Assigns as his and their own Proper Goods and Chattels Absolutely

And I do hereby nominate Constitute and Appoint the said Charles James Otway Sole Executor of this my Will And revoking all other and former Will and Wills by me made do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Otway have to this my Will written and contained in Two Sheets of Paper set my hand and seal the Fourteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty one And in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God over Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth Eliza Otway
