In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Partridge of Deal in the County of Kent Widow being indisposed in Body but of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding (thanks be to God for the same) do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (That is to say)
First and principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it And my Body I commit to the Earth of which it was first framed And as for the Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth (That is to say)

I give and devise all and singular my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditament whatsoever scituate lying and being in the Parish of Minister in the Isle of Thanett in the County of Kent and in the Town and Port of Sandwich in the same County And all other my Freehold Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Wellbeloved Son Mullet Carter of Deal aforesaid Pilot and to his heirs and assigns for Ever

And as to all my Leasehold Estate in Deal aforesaid, And all and singular my Goods, Chattels, Effects, Debts due and owing to me, Money and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and also of what nature kind or Quality soever the same shall be at the Time of my Decease I do give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Son Mullet Carter and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns

And I make constitute and appoint my said Son Mullett Carter full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And Lastly I revoke and make void all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the Eighteenth day of January in the Twenty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith &c. And in the Year of our Lord One Thousnad seven hundred and Forty seven

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Elizabeth Partridge as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of Us who subscribed our names as witnesses in her presence and at her request

The Before Reg[istere]d Will of Elizabeth Partridge dec[ease]d was proved the 9th day of February in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Forty seven before the Reverend William Broderip, Clerk, lawfull Sur[rogate] to the Worshipfull George Paul, Doctor of Laws, Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury, lawfully constituted by the Oath of Mullett Carter Son of the Testator and Sole Executor named in the said Will To whom Adm'on of the Goods &c. of the said Deceased was committed he being first Sworn duly to Execute the said Will.

Notes:
Elizabeth Partridge, widow, was buried at St. Leonard, Deal on 29 Jan 1747/48.
Elizabeth's son Mullet Carter (mentioned in the Will) was bap. 6 Jul 1707 at St. Leonard, Deal, s. of John and Elizabeth Carter.
John Carter married Elizabeth Mullet 9 Jan 1705 at St. Leonard, Deal. John Carter was buried at Deal 8 Feb 1717/18.
