In the Name of God Amen
I William Pemble of Cobham in the County of Kent Gentleman being of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

Imprimis I give devise and bequeath unto my son William Pemble Clerk all that my Rectory or Parsonage Impropriate of Cobham aforesaid and all the Tythes and Glebe Lands to the said Rectory or Parsonage belonging or appurtaining and all that my Advowson or right of presentation to the Vicarage of the parish Church of Cobham aforesaid and all those my two Messuages or Tenements in Cobham aforesaid with the Lands and appurtenances to the same Messuages belonging or appurtaining now in my own Possession and also all that my Stone Messuage or Tenement and Lands thereunto belonging in Cobham aforesaid and now in my own Possession and Adjoyning to the Church Yard there To have and to hold all and singular my said Rectory Advowson Tythes Messuages or Tenements Lands Hereditaments and premisses with their Appurtenances unto my Said Son William Pemble his Heirs and Assignes for ever

Item I give devise and bequeath all those my Messuages or Tenements and Lands lying and being in the parish of Clive als [alias] Cliffe in the said County of Kent in the Occupation of William Child David Brown and William Frobisher or in whomsoevers Possession the same now are unto James Pemble of Greenwich Surgeon and his Heirs upon Trust to preserve the Contingent uses and Estate hereinafter Limitted from being Destroyed and defeated and to that end to make Entryes as Occasion shall be

and First I give the same in Trust To and for the use and behoofe of my son Thomas Pemble for and during the Term of his Naturall life and do hereby Order and Direct and it is my Will that the said James Pemble shall permitt and suffer the said Thomas Pemble my Son to receive and take to his own use the Rents Issues and profitts thereof for and during the Term of his Naturall life
and from and after the decease of my son Thomas Pemble aforesaid or then to the use and behoofe of the First son of the body of my said son Thomas Pemble Lawfully begotten or to be begotten and of the Heirs Male of the body of such First Son Lawfully Issuing
and in Default of Such Issue then to the use and behoofe of the second third fourth and all and every other Son and Sons of the body of my Said Son Thomas Pemble lawfully Issuing Severally Successively and in Remainder one after the other of them as they shall be in Seniority of age and Priority of Birth and of the Several and Respective Heirs Male of the body and bodys of Such Son and Sons Issuing the Elder of them and the Heirs Male of of his Body Issuing being always to take and be preferred before the younger of them and the Heirs Male of his body Issuing and from and after the Decease of Such Issue Male or in Default of Such Issue Male then to the use and behoofe of my Said Son William Pemble his Heirs and Assignes for ever

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Comport All those my two Messuages Situate in the parish of Cobham one in the Possession of Robert Gunnings and the other in the Possession of Stephen Rickman and also one other Messuage or Tenement Situate at Upnah in the parish of Frindsbury in the County of Kent and now in the Possession of ____ Johnson together with the Ground and Appurtenances to them Severally belonging or appurtaining for and During the Term of her Naturall life only She keeping the Same in good and Sufficient Repair
and from and Imediately after her Decease I give will devise and bequeath the three last Mentioned Messuages or Tenements together with the Ground and Appurtenances to them Severally belonging or appurtaining to my Said Son William Pemble To have and to hold to him my Said Son William Pemble his Heirs and Assignes for ever

Item I further give Devise and bequeath unto my Said Daughter Elizabeth Comport the Sume of one Hundred pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain
Item I give Devise and bequeath to my Grandson Edward Wise the sum of five hundred pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain to be paid to him at his age of twenty one years
Item I give to my Executor hereafter Named the Sume of two Hundred and Fifty pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain in Trust that he shall according to his Discretion Dispose thereof towards the placing out my said Grandson Edward Wise to some Employment or Business or in his Maintenance and Education until the said two Hundred pounds shall become payable the Interest whereof my will is if occasion require be also applyed towards his Maintenance and Education

Item I give to my Grandaughter Elizabeth Wise the Sum of five hundred pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittain when she shall attain her age of twenty one years but if my said Grand Daughter shall happen to Marry before she shall attain the said age of twenty one years with the Consent and approbation of my Executor hereinafter named then I will that the said Sume of five hundred pounds shall be paid unto her at the time of Such her Marriage with Such Consent as aforesaid and not otherwise and in the meantime untill my said Grand Daughter Elizabeth Wise shall attain her said age of twenty one years or Marry with such Consent as aforesaid my Will is that the Interest of the Said Sume of five Hundred pounds or so much thereof as my said Executor shall think Necessary shall be applied for her Maintenance and Education

Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my Grandaughters Susannah Pemble and Catherine Pemble Daughters of my Said Son Thomas Pemble to Each of them the Sume of ten pounds of like Lawfull money to be paid them at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter Named

Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my said Son Thomas Pemble all such part and parts Share and Shares which I have in all and every the Company or Companys of mine Adventures and also in the undertaking of Neath and all my Right Title and Interest thereunto and all and Every Sum and Sums of money due or to grow due therefrom and all benefitt and advantage thereof
And further I give and bequeath unto my Said Son Thomas Pemble all such parts & shares or Interest which I have in the Sword Blade Company and all & every Sum and Sums of money due or to grow due therefrom and all benefitt & advantage thereof

and Lastly I doe hereby make Constitute Ordaine and Appoint my Said Son William Pemble full & Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
and I do hereby give Devise and bequeath to my Said Son William Pemble all the rest Residue and Remainder of my personall Estate of what Nature or kindsoever the Same may Consist after my Debts Legacies and Funerall Charges shall be fully paid and satisfied

hereby Revoking all former and other Will or Wills Testament or Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and Declareing this and none other to be and Containe my last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty Seventh Day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Twenty Six: Will: Pemble

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said William Pemble the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other at his request have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto the words [the Decease of] being First Interlined in the First Sheet

This will was proved at London on the twenty eighth day of the Month of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty seven before the Honourable Man John Andres Doctor of Laws surrogate of the venerable and distinguished John Bettesworth Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by oath of the Reverend gentleman William Pemble son and Executor named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods rights and credits of the said deceased sworn on the Holy Gospel of God to well and faithfully administer the same.

Note: William Pemble, woolen draper of Edmonton and Cobham, was buried at Cobham, Kent, 26 September 1727.
