In the name Amen the 18 day of the month of April in the year of our Lord 1485 and the second year of the Reign of King Richard the third
I Valentine Petytt esquire being in good mind and good Rememberance make and ordain this my P'sent testament containing my last will as well of all my moveable goods as of all my lands and tenements rents and ... with the appurtenances in the Isle of Thanet in the shire of Kent in the manner and form as followeth
First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker to our blessed Lady Virgin Mary his mother and to all the Saints and my body to be buried where it shall please god for it to dispose

Item I bequeath unto the church where I shall hope to be buried to the use of the Reparation of the same church lxs [60s]
Item I bequeath to the church work of Saint John on the Isle of Thanet x marc
Item I bequeath x marc to a priest? of good and honest com...ation to be ordained by mine executors for to sing for a year next after my decease for my soul and all Christian souls in the Church where it shall hope my body to be buried

Item I bequeath to Symond Petit 20s
Item I bequeath unto the Fraternitie of Corpus Christi among the Skynners of London founded where I am a brother £3
Item I bequeath to John Petitt the younger of London grocer and to his wife 40s
Item I bequeath to Thomas Stubbes mercer and to his wife 40s
Item I bequeath unto master Hugh parson of the parish church of Saint Andrews in Cornhill to pray for my soul 20s

Item I bequeath to every? of my feoffes enfeoffed in all my lands and tenements rents and .... in the Isle of Thanet to the intent? that they truly and diligently fulfil this my will as hereafter followeth to the most best and strongest? intent thereof as can be advised by learned counsel 20s
Item I bequeath to Elizabeth Takeley widow 40s
Item I will and and bequeath to John Petitt the younger Citizen and grocer of London of all my terms of years that be for to come after my decease of and in the tenements in B..chin? lane the which that I have of the grant of .... Newchurch belonging to the hospital of Saint Thomas in Southwark the same John Petett the younger paying bearing and supporting all manner rent and other charges thereof to be due during the same term to come

The residue of all my goods moveable and immoveable wheresoever they may be found after my debts be paid my legacies fulfilled I wholy give and bequeath unto Alice my wife she therewith to do and dispose her? true? free will for evermore with out any challenge or agennsaying? of any parson of any p'sonetor? account thereof to be given to any person or persons

the which Alice my wife I make and ordaine my principal executrice of this my present testament
and her executors I make and ordain John Petytt the elder of the Isle of Thanet aforesaid gentleman
and her overseer I make and ordain Richard Simpson gentleman
And I bequeath unto the said John Petitt the elder for his labours in the Commissions to be done? 40s
And I bequeath unto the said Richard Simpson for his labour in the promisses? to be done 40s for a token

Item as to the disposing of all my lands and tenements rents and farm with the appurtenances in the Isle of Thanet in the shire of Kent
I will pray and require all my feoffes the which that my use be? effeoffed of and in all the same my lands and tenements rents and farm with the appurtenances in the said Isle occur? after my decease without delay make or do to be made without fraud or male engine unto Alice my wife by the advice of learned counsel in the law a sufficient and a ... estate or grant whereby she may take receive and have to her and to her assignes for term of her life a yearly rent of £10 of sterling of and in all the said lands and tenements rents and farm with the appurtenances in the said Isle clear without any manner rent charge or .... or other thing thereof or therefore to be borne in any wise with such lawful constraints and clauses lawful whereby the same Alice nor her assigns in any wise be not voided? by inter...y or let of the receiving taking or having of the said yearly 10 pounds during her life and that the same yearly £10 may be yearly or timely brought unto the same Alice, where she shall dwell upon great pain to be ordained and advised in the said grant by my said feoffes willing by this my testament that ....ment after such estate or grant be made to the said Alice my wife all the said lands and tenements rents and farms and their appurtenances be divised by my said feoffes unto John Petitt the elder of the Isle of Thanet Gentleman to have and to hold to him and to his heirs and his assigns for evermore.

Reserving always to the said Alice my wife and to her assigns the said yearly £10 to be reserved taken and had as afore is .... during her life
In witness whereof to this my present testament and last will I have set my seal ...on the day and year afore said.
