The 8 day of May In the yeare of our lord god of 1514 And In the 6th year of the Reign of King Henry the VIII
I William Petitt the elder of Ringwold in the Countie of Kent make & ordain this my present testament and last Will in manner & form following that is to say
first I bequeath my soul to god almighty my maker to our blessed lady St Mary and to all the holy company of heaven And my body to be buried in the churchyard of Ringwold aforesaid beside the sepulture of Joham my wife

Item I bequeath to the high altar of the same church for my tithes and offering forgoten 15d
Item I bequeath to the buying of a new bell there 6s 7d
Item I will mine executors daser me at my burying months day and year day at any time ... dirge? and 5 masses
Item I will there be given in bread and ale at my burying day or months day 6 bushells wheat & 6 bushells malte for poor people to pray for my soul and all christen souls

Item I bequeath to Thomas Philpott and Joham his wife my daughter five marks
Item I bequeath to William Petitt, Richard Petitt my sons all my moveable goods and catell except 2 horses 2 hens the which I had by Joham my wife which 2 horses and 2 hens I will that mine executors shall deliver immediately after my decease to my said wife or else to agree with her for the same

Item I will that William and Richard my sons have all my lands present lying in the parish of Ringwold or elsewhere within the Countie of Kent to them there heirs or assignes for ever both intent to pay my debts and to fulfill this my present Testament and last will
the which William and Richard I ordaine and make mine executors charging therin upon my blessing to fulfill this my present testament and last will as is aforesaid

The Witnesses Thomas Philpott, Thomas Richard, James Henry servant to the lord of Ringwold, Richard Grant and John Baker with other moore
And writen by the oversight of Thomas Prowle Cowrihack of Dover
