In dei noie Amen In the yere of our lord God m vc xxxv [1535] And in the xxvij yere of the reigne of our sovereigne lord kyng Henry the viijth
I Robert Philpott of the p[ar]yshe of Saint James yn Elmsted do sett ordeyne my will & testament aft[er] this man[ne]r & forme foloweng
Fyrstly I bequeth my soule to allmyghty God And to our ladye Saynte Mary And to all the holy companye of hevyn My Body to be buried yn the churcheyard of Saynt James yn Elmsted aforesayd

Also I bequeith to the high Ault [Altar] yn the saide churche for lack of my tithes & oblations negligently forgoten xijd
Also I bequeith to the crosse light one busshell of barley
Also I bequeith to Saynt Georges light one busshell of barley
Also I bequeith to iiij torche berars [bearers] iiijd
Also I will have at my Buryeng iij pr[ie]sts & iij clerks

Also I bequieth to my good children [godchildren] to ev[e]ry one of theym ij ewe shepe
Also I will have at my monethes mynd A Solempne dyryge [dirige] and ij masses And so forthe evry ye[a]r ij masses and dyrge to the ende and terme of vij yeres And to bestowe evry yere vjs

Also I bequeith my sist[e]r Alice v ewe shepe
Also I bequeith my cousyn Thomas Philpott A redde spekyld budd [bull?]

Also I bequeith my brother John Philpott my place that my father bequeithed me with the Apptenncs [Appurtenances] to hym his heires or Assignes fore in he payeng owt of to my brother Thomas Phillpott vij li [£7]
And the said vij li to be paid yerly the space of viij yeres aft the p’formance of my fathers Will
Also I Will that my brother John and my brother Thomas shall sett about my fathers grave and myn iiij the pce? of viij grotes

Also I sett to be my true executor my brother John, and my brother Thomas Overseer

Also I bequeith to my S[er]vannt John Ghough viijd
Also I bequeith to the Chyldren of John A court to eythe of thaym an ewe shepe
Also I Will that all thgugh? that I have bequeithed shalbe payd out of my moveables Excepte that that must be paid out of the lands

Witnesses hereof: Sampson Baker of Elmested; Pet Bulfynche; Stephen Martyn; John Stooghe with others
