Item I bequeathe to the poore people dwellinge within the Parishe wher my bodye shall be buryed 20s
to be bestowed in 5 yeres every yere 4s by the discrehon of myne Executors or their Assignes.
Item I bequeathe to the poore peoples Boxes edyfyed within ye Parishe churches of
Tylmanstone and Elmested to every of them 20d to be delivered imedyatlye after my decease.
Item I wyll that ROBERTE PHILPOTT my sone shal have my manor of Bettshanger B_________ __________ in Elmsted aforesaid with all proffytts woods and land belonginge to the same to hym and his hayres for ever to enter as myne heyer their when he shall come to his full age of 20 yeres and not before.
Item I wyll myne Executors to receyve the proffytts of my said manor of Bettshanger wythe the
appurtenances of the farme and they to so donne and for to do all nedfull repacions of the houses there
without any manor of scrype or waste excepte for repacions onlye unto suche tyme as ROBERTE my
sonne shall come to his full age of 20 yeres And then they shalbe one tyme every yere accomptable unto my
Overseer for the same manor and lands.
And when ROBERTE my sone shall come to his full age of 20 yeres then I wyll that myne Executors in the
presence of my Overseer or his Deputye shall delyver or come to be delyvered unto the said ROBERTE my sone
all such money as or shalbe then spared of the revenuys of my said manor and lands.
And if it fortune ROBERTE my sone to dye before he come to his age of twentie yeres then I wyll that ROBERTE my sone
and his Executors to have the money remayninge of myne Executors to gyve or dispose it as he please or lyke beste.
Or if the said ROBERTE fortune to be in necessytye or wede then I wyll myne Executors to deliver him some parte of the said
revenuys as they shall soe cause.
Item I will that ROBERTE my sone shall pay or cause to be paid unto THOMAS PHILPOTT my sonne
when the said THOMAS shall come to his full age of 20 yeres 13 pounds 6s 8d of lawfull money of England.
And if it so fortune the said THOMAS my sonne to be in necessytye before he come to his said
full age of 20 yeres then I will he shall receyve parte of his said 13 pounds 6s 8d as shalbe thought now
convyente by myne Executors accordynge to his necessytye.
And when THOMAS shall come to his said full age of 20 yeres and the said 13 pounds 6s 8d to him not paid if it be by the said THOMAS lawfullye
_____ed then I will that the said THOMAS shall take a suffycyente dystresse for the same 13 pounds 6s
8d within my said manor of Bettshanger and every parcell of the same and the same dystress so lawfullye
taken to detayne and kepe unto suche tyme as the said money and everye parcell therof be fullye paid or
else the parties for the same agred.
And if it fortune ROBERTE my sone to dye without heyers of his bodye lawfully begotten then I will the holle manor of Bettshanger with appurtences of the same unto THOMAS my sone to him and to his heyres forever.
And if it fortune THOMAS my sone to dye without heyers of his bodye lawfully begotten then I will that my 5
daughters JOHANE THOMASYNE AGNES ALICE and MARYE shalbe his hayres eche of theme to have
their porcons lyke in my manor of Bettshanger with appurtenances to them and to their heyers forever.
And if it fortune that any of my said daughters to sell their porcons or porcon of the said manor or any parte therof it
shall not be lawfull unto any of them to sell it to any other than to their syster or systers they gyvynge for it as overseer wyll.
Item I will that and if it soe fortune any of my said daughters to dye before they so maried then the others to be their heyers.
Item I bequeathe unto JOHANE my daughter a younge ewe called ay heffer.
Item I bequeathe unto THOMASYNE my daughter a younge ewe called ay heffer.
Item I will to AGNES my daughter the beste cowe she may choyse amonge all my kyne.
The resydue of all my goods debts corne and cattell I wyll my funeral debts and bequethes paid I will myne
Executors and Overseer share all yt and to be equalye devyded betwene JULYANE my wyffe and my 5
daughters by equall porcons. And JULYANE my wyffe and JOHANE my daughter their partes ymedyatly after
my decease. And the resydues of my daughters to have their partes delivered to them by myne Executors and
Overseer in the Day of their marrriage.
And if it fortune any of my daughters to dye before the Daye of their
maryage then I will the resydue lyvinge everye of them to be others heyers or theie heyers provyded always if it
fortune any of my said daughters to be at any necessytye before they be maryed then myne Executors accordinge
to their necessytye shall deliver them some parte of their legacy before rehersed as they soe cause.
Also I will that my three daughters to whome I have gevyn cattell shall receyve it imedyatly after my decease.
Also I will JOHN ROGER and JULYANE my wyffe to be myne Executors and everye of them to have for their labor
over and above their costs and expences goynge aboute my busynis l0s.
And also I will JAMES DENNE to be myne Overseer and he to have for his labor 6s 8d.
