This 20th Day of July Anno Dmi 1744 In the Name of God Amen I JANE PHILPOTT of Felderland in the Parish of Eastry in the County of Kent Widow being sick in body but of perfect mind and memory praised be God for the same I do make this my last Will and Testament in writing in manner following.
First I recommend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God and my body I bequeath to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named.

Also I do nominate and appoint my Brother-in-law JOHN PARAMOR of Eastry aforesaid Gentleman my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

Also I do give and bequeath unto my four loveing children JANE PHILPOTT the younger ELIZABETH PHILPOTT WILLIAM PHILPOTT and SARAH PHILPOTT all and singular my ready money, household goods, plate, linnen, and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever.

And nevertheless my will and meaning is that my said Executor do and shall at his discretion out of the income maintain, bring up and educate all and every of my said children untill they shall respectively attain their ages of one and twenty years or Day of Marriage which shall first and next happen after my decease.

Also I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Executor sole Guardian of all my said children and to receive all rents from time to time from the income of their Estate for and towards the maintenance and education of my said children at his discretion untill they shall attain their severall and respective ages of one and twenty years or Day of Marriage which shall happen first after my decease.

And I do hereby order and direct if any that if any Rents or Interest or Money shall at anytime be lost unless through the wilfull neglect of my said Executor that then he my said Executor shall not be accountable to any person or persons for the same. And I do hereby order and direct that my said Executor do first out of my personal Estate pay out of and discharge of all my Debts Funeral Charges and Probate of this my Will.

In Witness whereof I have here set my Hand and Seal in the Day Month and Year as above written. Jane PHILPOTT signed sealed published and declared by the said Jane PHILPOTT to be her last WILL and Testament in the presence of
