This is the last Will and Testament of me Esther Philcox late of Maidstone in the County of Kent now residing at Burwash in the County of Sussex Spinster made this twenty seventh day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six

I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be fully paid and satisfied by my executor hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease
I appoint Samuel Hughes of the Inner Temple London Barrister at Law sole Executor of this my Will and give to him the sum of five guineas to purchase a ring or any other article

also I give to my Uncle Taylor the sum of five guineas to purchase any article he may choose
also I give to Louisa Smith now residing with my Aunt Cavenagh the sum of five pounds
also I give to my three Brothers John George Philcox William Dyer Philcox and Henry Owen Philcox the sum of five pounds each in lieu of any Books or trinkets

also I give and bequeath unto my Brothers John George Philcox William Dyer Philcox and Henry Owen Philcox all the residue of my moneys and securities for money stock funds debts and sum and sums of money which shall be owing to me at my decease equally to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike

Provided always that in case any or either of my said Brothers shall depart this life in my life time leaving lawful issue them or him surviving I direct that the issue of such my said Brothers respectively shall if and when such issue shall attain the age of twenty one years take and be entitled to if more than one equally amongst them the share or respective shares in the said residue moneys effects and premises bequeathed to my said Brothers as aforesaid which his her or their respective parents would have taken if he or they had been living at the time of my decease and I direct that the income to arise from any such share or shares shall be applied towards the maintenance education and support of any such child or children respectively during his her or their respective minority or minorities

I give to my niece Anna Priscilla Philcox the daughter of my Brother Edward Odiarne Philcox my Gold Watch Gold Chain (made by my Aunt Anna Philcox) the Brooch that belonged to her mother the Pearl Brooch containing my Father�s hair and the likenesses of her Father and Mother to and for her own use and benefit
but in case of her decease in my life time I give the said last mentioned articles and things unto Margaret the daughter of my said Brother James Philcox

I give all my other trinkets and articles of Jewellery and also my work boxes with the Furniture thereof to my Sister in Law Ann the Wife of my Brother James Philcox for her own use and benefit
I give the likenesses of my Brothers James and Henry Owen Philcox to my said niece Margaret Philcox
To my Uncle James Philcox my Writing desk
To my Aunt Sarah Taylor the large Bible which was given to my Aunt Anna Philcox by Mrs Ann Beard
to my Brother James Philcox my large Bible
to my Brother Edward Odiarne Philcox Bradley�s sermons in two volumes

I give all the rest of my Books to be divided between my said two Nieces Margaret Philcox and Anna Priscilla Philcox and my Cousin Lousa Philcox the division of which I leave to my Aunt Louisa Philcox
Also I give to my said Aunt Louisa Philcox all my clothes and all the Rest and Residue of my personal estate not hereinbefore otherwise disposed of wishing her to give to my said two Nieces Margaret Philcox and Anna Priscilla Philcox such things as she may think useful to them
