In the name of God Amen the third daie of Auguste in the yere of oure Lorde God a thowsand five hundreth fiftie and eighte
I John Pylter of the Parishe of Coldrede in the Countie of Kente Yemen [Yeoman] beinge sicke in bodie and hole and parfecte in mynde make this my Testamente and Laste Will in manner and Forme folowinge
First I bequethe my Soule to almightie God and to owr Ladye Sainte Marie and to all the holie copanie of heaven and my bodie to be buried in the church yearde of Col[d]red

Item I will to be done for me at my burying and my monethes mynde as shalbe thoughte mete by the discrecyon of my wiffe
Item I geve and bequethe to the reparacione of the churche of Colrede two shillings
Item I geve and bequethe Jesse Pilter my sonne vj li xiijs iiijd [£6 13s 4d]
Item I geve & bequethe to Frauncis Pilter my sonne vj li xiijs iiijd
Item I geve & bequethe to Stephen Pilter my sonne vj li xiijs iiijd
And everie of them to be paid as they shall come to the age of xxjth [21] yeres Provided allwaies That yf it shall happen eyther the said Jesse, Frauncis or Stephen to dye before the age of xxjth Yeres That then his porcyon to be devided to his brothers

Item I geve and bequethe to Isabell my daughter tenne pounds
Item I geve and bequethe To Alice my daughter tenne pounds
and everie of them to be paid as they shall come to the age of xviij yeres Provided allwaies that yf eyther of the said Isabell or Alis happen to dye before the said age of xviijth yeres that then I will there porcions to remayne to there brothers

The residewe of all my moveable goods my deptes and legacies paid I geve and bequeth To Elizabeth my wiffe whom I constitute ordeine and make my sole executrice to this my laste will and Testamente
Item I ordeine and make my oversear Roger Grise

This is the last will of me the said John Pilter made and declared the daie and yere firste above writen of and in all my Lands and Tenements lyinge and beinge in the p[ar]ishe of Coldred? and Shepsdeswell [Shepherdswell] to be had and holden to the use of Elizabethe my wiffe untill suche tyme as Stephen Pilter my sonne shall come to the age of xxjth yeres and then to be hadde and holden to the use of the said Stephen and his heires for ever

Item I will all my Lands and tenements lyinge and beynge in the parishe of Lidden to be had and holden to the use of Elizabethe my wiffe untill suche tyme Jesse my sonne and Francis my sonne as they shall come to the age of xxjth yeres
And them to be hadde and holden ysshewe [issue] of the said Jesse Pilter and Frauncis Pilter and to there heyres for ever And to be equallie devided and shifted betwene them

Provided alwaies that yf it shall happen at anye tyme hereafter The sayd Jesse my sonne or Frauncs my sonne to dye before the sayd age of xxjth yeres or w[i]thoute yssewe that then one of them to be an others heire of the said Landes at Lidden
And yf it shall happen the said Stephen my sonne to die before the said age of xxjth or withoute ysshewe that then I will all my Landes and teenements lyinge and beinge in the pishe of Lydden holie to Frauncs my sonne and to his heyres for ever And all my lands and Tenementes lyinge and beinge in the pishe of Col[d]red and Sheperswold [Shepherdswell] I will holie to Jesse my sonne & to his heyres for ever

And yf it shall happen all my thre(e) Sonnes to die withoute ysshewe and before the said age of xxjth yeres then I will all my lands and tenements aswell in Colrede Shepswell and Lydden shall Remayne to the foresaid Isabell and Alice my daughters and to there heyres for ever
