In the Name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Ghost Amen
I Magdalene Pontardant Wife of Francis Pontardant by the Grace of God Living and Dwelling at Present in the City of Canterbury in the Parish of St Paul in the County of Kent being Seventy three Years of Age but by the Grace of God of sound Mind and Understanding and knowing there is nothing so certain as Death nor so uncertain as the Hour thereof and not putting of passing from Earth to Heaven without having first Disposed of that which it hath pleased God to Give Me in this Kingdom and according to the Power and Consent of the said Pontardant my dear Husband do this Day without the Sollicitation or Persuasion of any Person but of my own proper Motion make my Testament or Declaration of Last Will

First I recommend to God my Creator beseeching Him with all the Earnestness of my Soul to pardon Me all my Sins through the love of my Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ and that at its departing from my Body it be received among the Blessed in his Heaven
As to my Body I leave it to the Disposal of my Dear Husband to be put into the Earth in a decent manner according to the Custom of our Holy Reformed Protestant religion

As to all my Moveable Effects I thus dispose thereof (to wit)
That my Dear Husband may enjoy during his Life an Annuity of Twelve Pounds Sterling which shall be taken out of the Two Annuities of Eight Pounds Sterling Each which are upon the Fourscore Thousand Pounds No 1653 and 1654 and for this Purpose the said Two Annuities shall be Transferred in the Name of my said Dear Husband and my Sister Anne Ga who shall Enjoy during the Life of my said Husband the Surplusage of the said Rent of Twelve Pounds
and after the decease of my said Dear Husband the said Annuities shall go to my said Sister and to her Husband during their Lives and after the Decease of Them Two shall return to Him Her Them or Such in favour of Whom my said Sister shall Dispose of Them by her Will

Item I give and Leave to Lawrence Lepinard and to his Brother in Law Daniel De Lanne One Order of One Hundred Pounds Sterling which is at present in the Three Per Cent Annuities and Thirty Pounds Sterling which is in the South Sea Annuities which makes Capital Stock One Hundred and Thirty Pounds Sterling of which the said Lepinard shall take shall take the Sum of Twenty five Pounds Sterling and the remainder which will be One Hundred and five Pounds Sterling shall be equally Divided between them Two as Brothers to Each Fifty Two Pounds Ten Shillings Sterling

Item I Give also to Abraham Pontardant Great Nephew of my Dear Husband the Bed and Bedstead where I shall be at the time of my Decease with the Bolster and Pillows the Grey bed Funrniture the white blew and green Coverlids with Two pair of Bed Sheets

This is my Testament and Last Will which I Will and Intend be punctually Executed according to its Form and Tenor annulling and revoking all other Testaments of this Nature which may have been heretofore made by Me Willing and Intending that no Other than this be Executed
and I Name and Appoint for Executors of this my present Will John Ga my Brother in Law and his Wife Anne my Sister

In Witness whereof I have Signed and Sealed this my present Testament and Last Will at Canterbury this Ninth Day of August 1728 Magdalene Pontardant otherwise Ono Signed and Sealed by Magdalene Pontardant who hath declared this to be her Testament and Last Will in the presence of Us the Underwritten
