In the name of God Amen I Josuah Pordage of Sandwich in the County of Kent being sickly in body but of good and perfect remembrance blessed be God doe make this my last will and Testament this seaventh day of September 1636 in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule to God and my body to the Grave to be Christianly buried in comfortable hope of a glorious Resurrection throughe Christ Jesus my onely Saviour And for the disposing of such worldly goods as God (h)as left me

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Harflett the wife of my loving sonne in Lawe Mr. Henry Harflett of Ash as a token of my love, one Cushion made of white Tinsell
And the fellow to that Cushion made of Redd Tinsell I give and bequeath unto my Grandchild Josuah Pordage,
the stuffe of w[hi]ch Cushions were made of the Canopies which I helpt to hold over the heads of King James and Queene Ann at their Coronations [25th July 1603] while I was Mayer of Sandwich

And I give and bequeath unto my sonne Richard Pordage the second of my gilt Salts, one of my three gilt Cupps and foure of my Silver Spoones Alsoe I give to my said sonne Richard my Cloath Gowne
And I further give to my said Grandchild Josuah Pordage my best gilt Salt And my wine bowle with a bell in the foote of it
And I give to my Grandchild Catherine Pordage one other of my three gilt Cupps

And to my grandchildren Elizabeth Pordage and Susan Pordage I will and bequeath to either of them one of my parcell gilt Cupps and five of my Silver Spoones I meane my tenn silver and gilt spoones besides what I have given my sonne Richard, to be equally devided betweene them
And the third of my said gilt Cups I give to my two said Grandchildren Elizabeth and Susan Pordage
And I give to my loving daughter in Law the late wife of my sonne Edward Pordage my small gilt trencher Salt as a token of my love
Alsoe I further give to my said sonne Richard my best fether bed, two boulsters, two pillowes, and three blancketts
And to my said Grandchild Josuah Pordage I further give and bequeath my iron bane and the iron back in the kitchen chimney

And all the rest of my household stuffe and goodes whatsoever undisposed of hitherto in this my will I will and bequeath unto my two said Grandchildren Elizabeth and Susan Pordage equally betweene them to be shifted and devided at their severall ages of eighteene yeares or at their severall dayes of marriage And if either of them dye before thise deverall dayes of marriage or eighteene, then my will and meaneing of the Surviving Sister shall enioy the part of her that shall soe dye and if they both dye before those times then I will their brother, my Grandchild Josuah Pordage shall enjoy the same
And in the meane time my will is that my daughter Pordage their mother shall keepe and make use of my said goodes soe bequeathed to Elizabeth and Susan Pordage till by this my will they come to enjoy the same

And I will and bequeath to my loving freind Mr. Thomas St. Nicholas of Ash And to my loving Sonne in Law Mr. Henry Harflett to be the Executors of this my last will and testament

Moreover I give to my loving Sister Mrs. Jacob one gilt Cupp wch formerly in this my will I gave to my Grandchildren Elizabeth and Susan Pordage and now doe thinck fitt this to alter and revoke
And I give to the pooore of the three parishes in Sandwich St. Maries, Saint Peeters and Saint Clements to either of them twenty shillings

Henry Harfleet married Dorcas Pordage on 30 Sep 1605 at St. Mary, Sandwich.
Edward Pordage married Dorathe St. Nichlas 3 Oct 1622 at St. Nicholas, Ash-next-Sandwich, Kent. Their children were baptised in Ash (next Sandwich) and Bekesbourne.
John Jacobb married Joan Porrege 11 Jan 1584/5 at St. Mary, Sandwich, Kent.
