The last will and testament nuncupative of Martha Reader late of Bredgar in the County of Kent widdow deceased by her made and declared in the time of her sicknes whereof shee died and on or about the two or three & twentieth daie of the moneth of September Anno domini 1624 in these wordes following or the some like in effect, that is to saie;

First she gave to the poore of the parish of Bredgar 40s
And to her sonne Raphe Reader she gave thirtie poundes of Current english money
And to her two daughters Anne and Fridesworth she gave tenn poundes a peece of like money
More she gave to her grandhild her daughter Johanes Child twenty shillinges of like money
Also she gave to Mr John Lane vicar of Bredgar 40s of like money

All the rest of her goodes, Cattles, Chattles, moveables, debts, money and personall estate whatsoever shee gave to her eldest sonne Thomas Reader whom she made and notated by expresse wordes to be her sole executor

These beeinge present and wytnesses, John Lane Clerck, Margaret wife of Thomas Aldersey Gent, Elizabeth the wife of Robert Bigg & diverse others
