Memorandum That on the Seaventh day of Januarie one thousand six hundred eightie and two (english Stile)
John Relfe late of Cranbrooke in the county of Kent Gent deceased lyeing sick at his dwelling house at Cranbrooke aforesaid of the Sicknesse whereof hee within two dayes after dyed and with an intent to dispose of his estate Did make utter and declare his last will and Testament nuncupative or by word of mouth in these or the very like words in effect following (viz.)

I give unto Elizabeth Relfe my daughter and Robert Relfe my sonne Foure hundred and Fifty pounds a peece to bee paid out of such moneyes as I have out upon mortgage bonds and other securities and readie monie which I have by mee

And I also Will that twelve hundred pounds or thereabouts the stocke in trade wch I have as partner in tradeing with the Merryes at London shall be equally divided betweene the said Elizabeth and Robert and that the said Elizabeth have one moiety thereof and the said Robert the other part thereof and all the moneyes bee given unto them shall bee respectivelie laid out upon Lands for the benefitt and use of the said Elizabeth and Robert and their heirs

And that my Executrix shall have the Interest and Rents of the said moneys and Lands soe to bee purchased untill the said Elizabeth and Robert shall respectivelie attaine their respective Ages of one and twenty yeares for and towards their maintenance and educacion

And I doe appoint that Bridgett my wife shall bee Executrix of my will

all which words or words tending to the very like effect hee the said deceased being at all and singler the prmisses of perfect minde and memorie did nuncupate utter and declare with the intent the same should stand for and bee taken as his last Will and testament Nuncupative in the prsnce and hearing of credible witnesses and desired the witnesses there sent or some of them to take notice and beare witnesse of the same or used words to that effect

John Relfe was buried 12 January 1682/83, Cranbrook.
He married Bridget Fowle 28 November 1665, Sandhurst, Kent. (See also the 1682 Will of Robert Fowle Esq of Salehurst PROB 11/369/161).
Daughter Elizabeth was baptised 3 July 1673, Cranbrook
and son Robert was baptised 5 April 1677, Cranbrook and buried 3 June 1729, Sandhurst, Kent (see PROb 11/632/250 Probate 25 September 1729.)
