This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann Reynolds of the Parish of Saint Mildred in the City of Canterbury Widow being of sound mind memory and understanding do this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and three make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and my Body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named
And as to my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say)

I give and bequeath unto Rebecca Cowley daughter of Thomas Cowley of Dover in Kent Feltmaker the Sum of Five pounds of lawful Money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Current in England to be paid to her within six Months next after my decease

Also I give and bequeath unto Anthony Jennings of Fordwich in the County of Kent Esqr. and Henry Bradon of the City of Canterbury Gentleman the Sum of Five pounds and Five shillings apiece of like lawful Money as a recompense for their trouble in the execution of this my Will

And as to all and Singular my Household Goods, Household Furniture, Plate, Linen and China, Monies and Securities for Money whether in the Public Stocks or Funds or on Private Security or Securities and all other the rest and Residue of my Goods, Chattels and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever (subject nevertheless to the payment of my just debts Legacies Funeral Expences and the Charges of Proving this my Will and other incident Expences) unto
my Grand Children Thomas Bourne, William Bourne, Henry Bourne, John Bourne, Benjamin Bourne and Mary Bourne Spinster
equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to their several and respective Executors Admors. and Assigns

Provided nevertheless and my mind and will is that in case any of my said Grand Children shall happen to die and depart this life under the age of Twenty one Years and without leaving any Issue of their Body or respective Bodies then living then and in such case I give and bequeath the part and share or parts and shares of him her or them so dying without Issue as aforesaid unto and equally between the Survivors or Survivor (if more than one) equally to be divided between such Survivors share and share like and unto the several and respective Executors Admors. and Assigns of such Survivor

And in case there shall happen to be only one such Grandchild surviving who shall live to attain the said age then unto such only surviving Grandchild his or her Executors Admors. and Assigns (anything hereinbefore contained to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding)

And I do hereby make Constitute and Appoint the said Anthony Jennings and Henry Bradon joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Ann Reynolds the Testatrix to this my last Will and Testament contained in one Sheet of Paper have set my hand and seal the day and year first above written

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the Testatrix Ann Reynolds as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us wo have hereunto Subscribed our Names as Witnesses, the erazure in the twelfth line of the first side being first made and written

Proved at London 2nd day of March 1810 before the Right Honorable Sir John Nicholl Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Anthony Jennings Esqr. and Henry Bradon (in the Will written Braddon) the Executors to whom Administration was granted they having been first sworn by Commission duly to Administer.

Note: Ann Reynolds was buried at St. Nicholas, Sturry on 2nd February 1810, and the entry in the parish register reads: “Ann Reynolds, Widow, from Harris’ Hospital, Wincheap, St. Mildred’s Parish, Canterbury”.
