In the name of God Amen the tenth daie of October Anno dini 1613
I William Robarts of East Northdowne in the parrish of St. John Baptist in the Isle of Thannet in the Countie of Kent, husbandman weake in bodie but yet of good and p[er]fect remembrannce (thanks bee to Allmightie God) doe make and ordaine this my present testam[en]t Contayning thearein my last will in manner and forme following
First I Comend my Soule into the hands of Allmightie God my maker Redeemer and Saviour and my bodie to bee buried in the churcheyard of the parishe aforesaide

Item I will and bequeath to William Robarts and Henry Robarts my soonnes to everie of them one cowe (to) them ymediatly after the decease of Suzan nowe my wife
Item I will and bequeathe to John Robarts and Nycholas my sonnes to eevrie of them twoe ewes to bee delivered to them ymediatelie after the decease of the said Suzan my wife

Item all the residew of my moveable goods Cattell and Chattells whatsoever remayning after my debts Legacies & funerall expences bee p[er]formed I will and bequeathe to ye said Susann my wife and to her heirs for ever

Item I make and ordaine the said Susann my wife my sole Executrix of this my present testament to see the same in all poynts p’formed and fullfilled according to the trewe meaning theareof

In Wittnes wheareof I have heareunto set my hand and seale the daie and yeare first abovewritten

To this wyttnesses: William Sampson, Roger Lamminge, John Smithe and Robert Webbe writer heareof

This is the last will of mee the said William Robarts made and declared the daie and yeare first abovewritten in the eleventh yeare of the Raigne of o[u]r Lord James by the grace of God of England Fraunce and Ireland deffender of the faith etc. of and uppon all my tenements and Lands lying and beeing within the parrish aforesaide, or elsewheare wthin the realme of England

First I will and bequeathe to the said Susan my wife all my said tenement and lands with theire appurtenances for & during all the tearme of her naturall life, keping sufficient reparacons and paying the lords of the Fee, seeing my younger Children broughte upp in decent order and making neither strippe nor waste

And ymediatlie after the decease of the said Suzann I will and bequeathe all the said tenement and lands wth theire appurtenances unto my said sonne John Roberts and unto his heires for ever, paying unto the said William, Henry and Nicholas my sonnes to everie of them fortie shillings of Lawfull english money within three yeares nexte ensuing after the decease of the said Suzan my wife

Provyded allwaies and my will minde and intent is that if the said John my sonne shall fortune to decease before the said Suzan my wife that the said Nicholas my sonne shall have and enjoye all the sayde tenement and lands to him and his heires for ever paying unto the saide William and Henry my soonnes to everie of them xls within three yeares next after the decease of the said Suzan my wife

Item I make and ordaine the said Suzan my wife my sole executrix of this my Last will to see ye same in all poynts pformed and fullfilled according to the trewe meaning theareof

Notes:
William Roberts and Susan Beard were married 24th October 1592 at St. James, Staple (near Wingham), Kent.
William Robarde, Paterfamilias was buried at St. John in Thanet on 20th October 1613.
Susan Roberts remarried on 17th February 1614/15 to Lewis Thomson, at St. John.
