In the name of God Amen The nine and twentieth day of June Anno Domini 1630 in the sixt yeare of the raigne of our soveriagne Lord Charles by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland France & Ireland defender of the faith etc
I Abraham Rutten of the Towne and Porte of Sandwich in the County of Kent gentleman being in good health & perfect memory thanks bee given to Almighty God doe make this my present last will and testament in manner & forme followinge
First I bequeath my Soule to Allmighty God my Creator & maker & to Jesus Christ my redeemer and saviour assuredly trusting his mercy & meritts to obtain everlasting life in the Kingdome of heaven for evermore And my body to the earth to bee buryed in decent manner by mine executrix hereafter named

Item I give unto the poore people of the parish of St Mary in Sandwich forty shillinges
Item to the poore people of the parish of St Peter twenty shillinges
Item to the poore people of St Clement twenty shillings

Item I give to my loveinge wife Elizabeth Rutten all & singuler my moveable goods linnen plate and jewells to her owne use for ever
And I make the said Elizabeth my wife sole executrix of this my last will & testament
And my good freinds Mr John Nyn Mr Edmund Parbo & Mr Isaac Cogur overseers of the same my will desireinge them to bee aydinge and assistinge to my said executrix in all things
And I give to each of them a ringe of thirty shillinges

And as touchinge all my messuages lands tenements & hereditaments whatsoever
Imprimis I will and devise that the said Elizabeth my wife and her heires shall hold and enioy all & singuler such messuages lands tenements & hereditaments as I have assured unto her & her heires by deed indented made to Edward Henden sariat at Law John Henden Esqr & Edmund Parbo gent accordinge to the true intent & meaninge of the said deed indented

And I will that all and every other person and persons that have bought any lands & tenements of mee I will that they shall enioy them accordinge to their severall purchases

And whereas Sara my sister now the wife of Vincent Cupper gent pretendeth to hold by lease my brewhouse malthouse dwellinge house stable yard wharfe & key now in the occupacion of Isaacke Cogar & my messuage tenemente backside & wharfe late in the occupacion of William Wise scituate and beinge in the parish of St Mary in Sandwich aforesaid for a longe terme yet to come under a condicion for the payment of a certaine somme of mony which is all paid and by order in his Majestyes high Court of Chancery at Westminster the said Vincent & Sara are ordered to surrender up the said lease & to release their interest in the said houses upon the payment of twenty pounds more which I will shall bee paid or tendered unto them by my executrix & overseers or some of them

I will and devise that the said two messuages brewhouse malthouse stable yards wharfes and keyes with their appurtenances shall bee sold by my executrix & overseers vizt Elizabeth my wife John Nyn Mr Edmund Parbo & Mr Isaacke Cogar or any two of them or the survivor or survivors of them soe soone as they cann after my decease for the best price they can get & the mony thereof made & raysed shall bee imployed toward the payment of my true and iust debts by mine executrix & overseers or the survivor or survivors of them

Item I will and devise that all other my messuages lands tenements & hereditaments within the said Towne and Porte of Sandwich and within the parish of Woodnesborow or els where not before bequeathed shall bee sold by mine executrix & overseers or any two of them or the survivor or survivors of them soe soone as they can after my decease for the best price they can gett & the mony thereof made & raysed shall bee imployed for the full payment of my true and iust debts by mine executrix & overseers or the survivor or survivors of them
And I doe give unto my said executrix & overseers or any two of them and the survivor or survivors of them full power to bargaine and sell my said messuages lands tenements & hereditaments to any person or persons their heires in such manner as is afore devised

Item I will and devise that if there shall remaine any overplus of the mony which shall be raysed by the said or my said lands tenements & hereditaments then I give to Isaack Rutten sonne of my Cozen Isaacke Rutten of Rochester deceased the somme of fifty pounds to bee paid him out of the said overplus after my said debts shall bee fully paid

And then also I give to Sarah Bone out of the said overplus forty shillinges yearely duringe her naturall life to bee paid to her at the fowre usuall feasts in the yeare
All the rest of my said overplus and all other my goods and chattells whatsoever I give to the said Elizabeth my wife
Item I give to my loveinge mother in Law Mistress Emlen reyn a ringe of forty shillings

In witnes whereof I the said Abraham Rutten have hereunto put my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written Abraham Rutten Sealed published & delivered as my last will & testament in the presence of
