In the name of god Amen I Thomas Rutton of Wye in the County of Kent gent being sicke in body but perfect memory (praised be god) doe make ordaine and declare this my last will and testament in manner following First I resign up my Soule into the hands of almighty god and I give my body to be buryed in decent and Christian manner by my executors neare unto the place where my wife was buryed

Item I will and give to Twenty ancient poore people of Wye aforesaid The summe of Tenne shillings That is to each of them 6d apeece to be distributed by William Fenby and Thomas Masters of the said parish
Item I will and give to the other poore people of the said parish soe much bread as shall amount to the summe of Ten shillings

Item I will and give to Thomas Gutteridge the summe of Forty shillings To be paid to his mother Susan Masters to be laid out in Stocks for his use
Item I will and give to the said Susan Masters the summe of Ten shillings
Item I give to Elizabeth Samson my late servant the summe of Ten shillings
Item I give to Mary Samson my servant the summe of Ten shillings
Item I will and give to my hounoured and much respected friend John Naylor of Ashfored one gold ring to the value of Ten shillings
Item I will and give to John Wade of Ashford gent my Cane with a silver handle
Item I will that the legacyes aforesaid be paid and delivered within one moneth after my decease by my executors

Item I will and give to my sonne John Rutton the summe of Twenty poundes to be paid by my executors within Twelve moneths after my decease

All the rest and residue of my ready money debts plate and personall estate whatsoever to me belonging at the time of my death I will and give the same to my two sonnes Isaac Rutton and Thomas Rutton equally to be divided between them my debts legacyes and funerall expences being first by them satisfied and paid out of the same

And I doe nominate and appoint my said sonnes Isaac Rutton and Thomas Rutton executors of this my last will and testament
desiring my friend John Wade of Ashford gent to be overseer of this my last will and testament to see the same fully performed according to the intent thereof

This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Rutton whereunto I have set my hand and Seale the Ninth day of February In the Five and Twentieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of god of England Scotland France & Ireland King defender of the faith etc Annoq Domini 1672 T Rutton
