Inprimis I give devise and bequeath all my messuage or tenement and premises now in two
dwellings situate near the Marquiss of Grandby Inn in Folkestone aforesaid and now in the
occupations of John Honiss and Bartholomew Smith unto my brother William Baker of
Folkestone aforesaid cordwainer to hold to him for and during the term of his natural life
and from and after his decease I give devise and bequeath the said messuage or tenement and
premises unto the children of the said William Baker to hold to them their heirs executors
administrators and assigns for ever equally to be divided between them whether males or females
share and share alike to take as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.
Item I give and bequeath my household furniture, linen, plate and wearing apparel unto
my sister Susanna Toes wife of Thomas Toes of Folkestone aforesaid taylor,
my niece Susanna Furley wife of Henry Furley of Sandgate near Folkestone aforesaid schoolmaster,
my sister Alice Morris wife of William Morris of the Town and Port of Dover in the said County gentleman
and my niece Elizabeth Ratcliff wife of Henry Ratcliff of Dover aforesaid carpenter
equally to be divided between them share and share alike
and whereas I have one hundred pounds in the hands of Mr Philpott Coleman of Dymchurch grazier at the interest of five pounds per cent per annum now I do hereby give and bequeath the interest thereof unto my said niece Susanna Furley for the purpose of cloathing her son Robert Dodd by her former husband untill he shall attain the age of one and twenty years and so soon as he shall have attained the said age I do hereby give and bequeath the said principal sum of one hundred pounds to the said Robert Dodd to hold to him his heirs and assigns for ever.
I give and bequeath unto my said sister Alice Morris the sum of one hundred pounds.
I give and bequeath unto my said sister Susanna Toes a clear? Annuity of twenty pounds per
annum for and during the term of her natural life.
Item all the rest residue and remainder of my said estate and effects that shall remain undisposed
of after the decease of my said sister Susanna Toes I give devise and bequeath the same unto my
said niece Susanna Furley my said niece Elizabeth Ratcliff and my nephews Henry Morris and
Rutton Morris sons of the said William Morris equally to be divided between them share and
share alike to hold to them their heirs executors administrators and assigns as tenants in common
and not as joint tenants
subject nevertheless and upon this condition that in case either of them the
said Susanna Furley Elizabeth Ratcliff Henry Morris and Rutton Morris shall happen to die
before he she or they are intitled to his her or their respective shares and interest under this my
will then and in such case I give devise and bequeath that part and share of such deceased party
unto the survivor or survivors of them the said Susanna Furley Elizabeth Ratcliff Henry Morris
and Rutton Morris equally to be divided between them share and share alike
and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said brother William Baker sole executor of this my will and I do revoke and make void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this only to be my last will in witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and affixed my seal this eighteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two. On further consideration I now desire that the one hundred pounds that I have bequeathed unto Robert Dodd aforesaid shall instead thereof be bequeathed unto his mother Susanna Furley and that instead of her the said Susanna Furley having a part or share with my niece Elizabeth Ratcliff, Henry Morris and Rutton Morris I desire that her son Robert Dodd aforesaid shall share with them instead of his mother.

This will was proved at London with a codicil the twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Baker the brother of the testator and sole executor named in the said will to whom Administration was granted to all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by commission duly to administer.
