     Tom Smith was born circa 1880.¹ He married Nettie Isabel Roberts, daughter of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson, circa 1900.¹

     Owen Henry Roberts was born in September 1884.¹ He was the son of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson.¹

     Nathan Belton Roberts was born on 20 January 1891 at Gonzales County, Texas.¹ He was the son of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson.¹ Nathan Belton Roberts married Lillie Constance Stokes circa 1915.¹ Nathan Belton Roberts died on 22 January 1969 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at age 78.¹ He was buried after 22 January 1969 at in the transprotation employees section of Roselawn Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.¹

     Lillie Constance Stokes was born on 9 December 1898.¹ She married Nathan Belton Roberts, son of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson, circa 1915.¹ Lillie Constance Stokes died on 17 December at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.¹ She was buried at Roselawn Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.¹

     John Issac Roberts was born on 19 September 1893 at Gonzales County, Texas.¹ He was the son of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson.¹ John Issac Roberts died on 4 August 1895 at Gonzales County, Texas, at age 1.¹ He was buried after 4 August 1895 at Oak Forrest Cemetery, Gonzales County, Texas.¹

     Graham Francis Roberts was born in August 1898 at Gonzales County, Texas.¹ He was the son of John Frances Roberts and Mary Isabel Jackson.¹

     Jeanette Brooks was born circa 1877.¹ She was the daughter of John Brooks and Margaret E. Roberts.¹

     Delila 'Dilly' Landers was born on 31 July 1769 at Granville County, North Carolina.^2,3 She was the daughter of Luke Landers and Rachel Parrish.² Delila 'Dilly' Landers married Benjamin Page circa 1783 at Granville County, North Carolina.² Delila 'Dilly' Landers married Joseph Cartledge circa 1790 at North Carolina.² Delila 'Dilly' Landers married Shadrack Roberts, son of Richard Roberts and Elizabeth Lynden Montgomery, circa 1795 at Granville County, North Carolina.^2,3 Delila 'Dilly' Landers married Jonathan Swann after 1804 at North Carolina.² Delila 'Dilly' Landers died on 30 October 1849 at Benton (Calhoun) County, Alabama, at age 80 The cause of death is given as dropsy. She was sick for 21 days.² She was buried at (Walnut Springs) Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Jacksonville, Calhoun County, Alabama.¹
     Dilly Landers married four times: (1) Benjamin PAGE, (2) JosephCARTLEDGE, (3) Shadrack ROBERTS , & (4) Jonathan SWANN.

Dilly's birth is found in a family Bible record published in Simon ElbertBoozer and Mary Ann Landers Payne, History of the Landers Family inAmerica [Anniston AL, 1966, found in GA Archives, Atlanta], p. 7.

'It was not by her second husband Joseph Cartledge, but by her third,Shadrach Roberts, that she had the posthumous child. Perhaps thisinaccuracy is an instance of Dilly's 'most entertaining conversationalpowers.'

'After grandfather's (Joseph Cartledge) death, my grandmother (DillyLanders Page Cartledge) was twice married, first to a Mr. [Shadrack]Roberts, and afterwards to a Mr. [Jonathan] Swann. She was married fourtimes, raised a family by each of her husbands, buried all four of themin succession, and then lived a widow for the last twenty years of herlife. She died in Benton County, Alabama, in 1851 in the ninety-thirdyears of her life. Of all persons whom I have personally known, mygrandmother Cartledge was gifted with the most entertainingconversational powers. She could make her conversation interesting andattractive to young and old alike, to the learned and the unlearned. Shehad a much better education than most women of her time, her father, LUKELANDERS, a successful teacher, having given his children an unusuallygood education for that day and time.'

LANDERS of Alabama:
Two of Luke and Rachel Landers's children, John and Dilley, with theirfamilies, had left Gwinnette County, Georgia in the late 1820's or early1830's and received land grants in Benton County, Alabama near eachother. They were among the first pioneers to settle in northeasternAlabama after the Treaty of Cussetta. Descendents still live on theoriginal grants in areas near Jacksonville, Calhoun County, Alabama.
John, his son Abraham Landers and grandson William Landers had landgrants in what now (1998) is the New Liberty Community, Calhoun County,Alabama, and four miles from the David P. Roberts grant.

1840; Delila may been living with her daughter, Elizabeth (Page)Spaulding Roberts in 1840. Listed in the household of Elizabeth Robertsin 1840, Benton County, AL is a female aged 80 & under 90. Of course,Delila would have been 70 & under 80 in 1840, could be a census mistake.

Dilly Landers died in the home of her daughter Elizabeth Page Roberts;(listed in the household of Elizabeth Roberts in 1840, Benton County as afemale about 80); no marker but buried in the Mead Family lot inFriendship Cemetery with her daughter Jenny Swann Mead and grandchildrenSusannah, Lucy Jane, Bessie, and Catherine (Kate) Buse Mead.
