Hinson.^2,3 Grady Edward Hargis was baptized on 31 October 1967 at Clawson, Michigan, Ron Smotherman was the minister.⁴ He married Anna Sitok on 25 February 1932 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.⁵ Grady Edward Hargis died on 15 March 1968 at Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 62 Metastatic lung cancer.³ He was buried on 18 March 1968 at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Oakland County, Michigan.³
     Grady Edward Hargis resided in 1934 Palmer, Detroit, Mi.⁶ He resided in 1935 Emwill, Ferndale, Mi.⁶ He resided in 1939 Sherman, Oak Park, Mi.⁶ He resided in 1951 Colgate, Oak Park, Mi.⁶ Grady came to Detroit in 1923 and stayed a short time with his brother Judge.
He had his first apartment (one room) on Forest near 25th st. His second apartment was on Ho lden. He owned a Ford roadster with a rumble seat at one time.
He worked as an assistant purser on the D & C ships. One of his chores was to take tea, coff ee, and breakfast to the ship's captain. He began working on the ship on Labor Day 1931 (? ) and continued until 1933.⁶
