     Abraham secured a grant of land known as the Perry Barnes Place in Baker Hollow.

     Thomas Stogsdill was born circa 1815 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.² He married Cloy Hargis, daughter of Abraham Hargis and Susannah Price, on 24 May 1835 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.³

I have some information about the people you asked about.

I have Sarah Price, b. 1788 in Tenn., d. aft 1840, m. Thomas Stogsdill Sr. around 1801. You r date of 12 Nov 1800 certainly fits in the realm of possibilities, where did you get that da te? I would love to have confirmation of that date, possibly a marriage record?

Sarah is the daughter of Thomas Price who was born around 1765. Thomas had three children tha t I know of:

Susannah b. either 1785 or 1792 in either Tenn. or Pulaski Co. m. Abraham Hargis abt.1810 an d had four children: Washington, Mary, Cloy (Chloe), and Samuel Bailey

Sarah b. 1788 m. Thomas Stogsdill abt 1801 and had ten children: Nancy Elzy, Richard, Elizabe th, Johnson, Williamson M., Emilia (Milly), Morris, Thomas, Rutha, and William Riley.

Shadrick b. 1790 in Tenn. Much has been written about him I think, but I don't have much on h im.

Thomas Stogsdill Sr. and Sarah Price's son Thomas m. 17 Dec 1850 to Elizabeth Price, no know n children. I don't have any other info on Elizabeth. Do you have a date of birth or death?

Thomas Stogsdill Jr. was married again after Elizabeth to Cloy (Chloe) Hargis, the same one l isted above. Cloy was Elizabeth's niece. They were married on 24 May 1838 in Pulaski Co. an d had five children: Elias, Elizabeth, Mary Ann (Polly), John W., and Martha.

The only child of theirs that I have much information on is Mary Ann (Polly), who married Mar tin Van Buren Bray, my gg-grandfather. I also have quite a bit of information about their dec endants, but some of it is too recent to share on the web. E-mail me if you like.

There were lots of marriages between the families mentioned above, for example, Emilia (Milly ) Stogsdill married her first cousin, Washington Hargis. Samuel Bailey Hargis married a woma n named Elizabeth Whitaker and their daughter Dicey married George Washington Bray, son of Ma rtin Van Buren Bray. William Riley Stogsdill married his first cousin, Mary Hargis, daughte r of Abraham Hargis and Susannah Price.

Barber on 6 October 1895 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.³ Thomas Bray died on 20 December 1968 at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, at age 93.²

     Nathan Bray was born on 23 January 1880 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Martin Van Buren Bray and Mary Ann (Polly) Stogsdill. Nathan Bray married Mary Bertha Dykes on 10 November 1904 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ Nathan Bray died on 14 June 1967 at Copley, Summit County, Ohio, at age 87.¹

     James Carter Mounce was born on 17 February 1853 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ He married Elizabeth B. Hargis, daughter of John Thomas Hargis and Jemima Clark, on 16 December 1875 at Pulaski County, Kentucky, This was the second marriage for Jame.² James Carter Mounce died on 12 October 1929 at New Hope, Pulaski County, Kentucky, at age 76.³

     Catherine Hargiss was born circa 1842 at Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Floyd Hargis and Mahala Unknown.¹

     Christopher Columbus Bray was born on 13 February 1888 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Martin Van Buren Bray and Mary Ann (Polly) Stogsdill.¹ Christopher Columbus Bray married Flora Tarter.² Christopher Columbus Bray married Lillie Mounce.² Christopher Columbus Bray married Calutha A. Sayers.² Christopher Columbus Bray died on 19 January 1982 at Pulaski County, Kentucky, at age 93.¹ He was buried in 1982 at Clay Hill Cemetery, Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹

     Patrick Bray was born in 1886 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.³ He was the son of Martin Van Buren Bray and Mary Ann (Polly) Stogsdill.^2,1 Patrick Bray married Sophia Mounce on 19 September 1909 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.³

     Samuel Roscoe Bray was born on 7 May 1882 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of George Washington Bray and Dicey Ellen Hargis.² Samuel Roscoe Bray married Rushie Frances Tomlinson, daughter of Charles Jackson Tomlinson and Maranda Isabelle Meece, on 30 July 1908 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ Samuel Roscoe Bray died on 4 September 1971 at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, at age 89.² He was buried after 4 September 1971 at Reading Cemetery, Reading, Ohio.²
     Moved from Parke Co, Indiana to Reading, Ohio on March 10, 1927. Moved to Gebert Ave. in Re ading in 1928.²

     Rushie Frances Tomlinson was born on 26 January 1894 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Jackson Tomlinson and Maranda Isabelle Meece.^2,1 Rushie Frances Tomlinson married Samuel Roscoe Bray, son of George Washington Bray and Dicey Ellen Hargis, on 30 July 1908 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.³ Rushie Frances Tomlinson died on 18 July 1983 at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, at age 89.¹ She was buried after 18 July 1983 at Reading Cemeterry, Reading County, Ohio.¹

     Thelma Bradley married Melvin Hargis, son of John Lewis "Jack" Hargis and Martha Stogsdill.¹

     Velva Hargis was born on 10 August 1913 at Whetstone, Pulaski County, Arkansas.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Hargis.¹ Velva Hargis married Gilbert Edwards on 5 October 1940 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ Velva Hargis died on 23 January 1986 at Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, at age 72.¹

     Alma Hargis was born on 3 November 1914 at Whetstone, Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Hargis.¹ Alma Hargis died on 5 October 1998 at Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, at age 83.¹
