Note: The following was transcribed from the published proceedings of the Fenian Brotherhood Convention of September 4th 1877 found in

Box 6 of

"The convention was again called to order by Brother Gallagher in the chair. The records of the previous session having been read and approved. The Committee on Credentials offered the following report, which was adopted, except in the case of contested seats. Those seats that were contested were resubmitted."

[Note by M Ruddy: In the Convention document there were mentioned Districts A, B, C, D, E, F, G H and I. Those districts apparently then broke down into Circles which are identified with a "D" followed by a number, i.e. D104 etc. This would follow the United Brotherhood "encryption" system where the letter in front of the actual letter was used to designate something -- therefore VC stood for UB United Brotherhood etc. I imagine the numbers omitted did not send delegates or no longer existed. In D160 I would venture a guess that this delegate was from Canada, because in the earlier convention the Canadian names were not published to prevent them being jailed on their return]
