* Much of this information is speculative. For starters, there is good reason to doubt that the 1870 and 1880 Census records are for the same person. In 1870 they live in Northampton Co. In 1880 they live in Bucks Co. More significantly, all of the children mentioned in the 1870 record do not show up in 1880. It is possible they all died. I cannot find anyone with the right age and name anywhere in 1880. Further, Charles E. shows up in 1880 as age 13, the same age daughter Setty should have been based on the 1870 record. Other than the 1880 Census, I have no evidence that Joseph remarried anyone, although the existence of "Sallie A." in the 1880 record is consistent with what other researchers have found. Lovina does not seem to show up in 1900, although this would be the case if she remarried and lived apart from her adult children by then.
