DEATH OF ISRAEL LONG

At five o’clock last Monday evening, one of the oldest and best known citizens of this community passed away when Israel Long’s suffering ended. Almost his entire life was spent on the farm where he died. His health had been gradually failing for some weeks previous to his death although he was confined to his bed but for a few days. Had he lived until July, he would have been 86 years old. During Mr. Long’s life he was married twice, each time to a Miss Greenamyer, sisters of our townsman Dr. E. Greenamyer. His wife and four children survive him, namely Mrs. W. C. Wallace, Mrs. J. M. Wilson, Mrs. Elmer Coblentz and Miss Maria Long. The following children being dead, Mrs. Cyrus Hamilton, Mrs. Alexander, Parker, Calvin and Pierce Long. Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Alexander and Miss Maria Long being children of his first wife. Mr. Long’s enterprise and industry were well rewarded as he left his family in good circumstances. He was a man highly respected in the community in which he lived. The funeral exercises were conducted from is late residence three miles northeast of this place at 11 a.m. today, by Rev. D. F. Dickson. The remains were interred in Little Beaver Cemetery.
