News/Obit* | 11 April 1972 | William Crider William H. Crider, 68, of 185 Vine St., died Monday at 11:20 a.m. in Community Hospital West after an illness of six months. Born in Strwwsberg, Va., June 2, 1903, son of Jeff and Virginia Drummon Crider, he was employed at Columbiana Foundry and Deming Company before retirement. He moved to Salem from Washingtonville in 1967, and was a member of the Salem Slovak Club. His first wife was Myrtle Harrold, whom he married in 1923. He married Helen Callahan in 1939, and she died in 1967. His widow, Lottie Whitehair, whom he married in 1971, survives, together with two sons, Otto and Francis, both of Salem; four stepsons, Billy Kendig of California, Arnold Shaffer of Grafton, W. Va., and Hayward Whitehair and Paul Pirone, both of Salem; a stepdaughter, Ruby Jenkins of Salem; a brother, Harry of Columbiana; a sister, Mrs. Ola Wilson of Strawsberg; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son, Ronald, died in 1964. Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Woods and Son Funeral Home in Leetonia, with the Rev. Harold B. Winn of First Friends Church officiating. Burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Appeared in the Salem News (OH), 11 Apr 1972.1 |
