Milit-Beg*   Martin and Jacob Zimmer served in the French army under Napoleon and were in the disatrous march from Moscow back to Paris. 
Note*   Jacob was enumerated in 1850 as George F. Simmer. There were only a few Zimmers in Adams township and Martin was already accounted for which leaves the only person this could be as Jacob.
