| News/Obit* | after 9 August 2012 | JOYCE "JO" JANSSEN VICTORIA - Joyce "Jo" Janssen, 54 of Victoria, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. She was born in Wichita Falls on May 11, 1958 to the late Ralph E. Stallcup and Marie Lambert Stallcup of Port Lavaca. What an incredible blessing she was to everyone while she was here. A best friend, an open pair of arms, and a never-ending abundance of pure love, care, support and encouragement is what you would find if you ever came in contact with her. No matter who you were. She lived her live changing others in such an intense and positive way. As much as today hurts....there's a whole lot of joy in trying to even imagine the look on her face right now as she's talking to Jesus. I'm absolutely certain that he's telling her "Good job!" She's no longer in pain...even better, she's finally met the Savior she so faithfully devoted her life to serving. Praise God for this! But also…just say thank you for such an EPIC woman that touched the lives of so many people. You'll be missed, but never ever forgotten. In addition to her mother, Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Karl) Cranek of Edna; son, Aaron (Tiffany) Janssen of Edna; sisters, Ginger (Mark) Scarborough of Corsicana, Amanda Gandesberry, and Elizabeth Oglesby; brother, Robert Stallcup; grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Janssen; nieces, Madisen and Morgan Scarborough; nephew, Grant Scarborough and family friend, Ginny Stafford. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Grace Funeral Home in Victoria. Funeral Services will be at 9 A.M. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church 902 Calhoun St. in Port Lavaca, with Pastor Larry Green, Chaplin of Hospice of South Texas, officiating. Private burial will follow. Pallbearers are Ryan Keller, Gerald Pelkey, Brandon Strelzyck, Joel Aguirre, Ricky DeLaGarza, Jay Young and Christopher Payne. Honorary Pallbearers are all the other members of the Guardians of the Ribbon, South Texas Chapter. Memorial may be made to the Women's Crises Center or Guardians of the Ribbon, South Texas Chapter. Grace Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.6 |
