Marcella Lorraine Firestone , 76, of Connellsville (Bullskin Township), passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in the Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born March 26, 1929, in Meyersdale, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Mary Naomi Krygsman Wedge Sr. Marcella was a longtime resident of Bullskin Township. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a selector for the Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. glass plant in South Connellsville. She attended the Church of the Open Door in Connellsville. Marcella was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her family. When she was able, Marcella loved working outside in the yard. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and was good at yodeling. Marcella is survived by her loving sons, Warren R. Firestone Jr. and his wife, Janice L., of Connellsville, and Mark A. Firestone and his wife, Janis E., of Tarrs; her wonderful grandchildren, Jason L. Firestone and his wife, Jennifer, of Uniontown, Bradley A. Firestone and Jamie Lynn Banko, both of Connellsville, Jordan Andrew Killinger, Jade Elizabeth Firestone and Sadie Ellen Firestone , all of Tarrs, and Matthew and Michael Mascarelli, both of Connellsville; her great-grandchildren, Dylan and DaLaney Nicholson; her brothers, Billy Vernon Wedge and his wife, Jessie, of Mill Run, and Charles Edward Wedge Jr., of Wooddale; and her close friend, Norman Redwing, of North Versailles. In addition to her parents, Marcella was predeceased by her husband, Warren R. Firestone Sr., in 1995; and a brother, Marvin Dale Wedge Sr. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Wade L. Kuhlewind officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Church of the Open Door, 1 Church Ave., Connellsville, Pa. 15425, in memory of Marcella L. Firestone .
