News/Obit* 24 October 1997  Clarence J. Whinery, 65, of North Sewickley Township, formerly of Winona, died Oct. 22 at his home.

Born July 30, 1912, Winona, he was the son of Marius and Anna (Bartges) Whinery. Whinery retired as a tile inspector from Armstrong World Industries in Beaver Falls. He was a member of St. Mary-Roman Catholic Church, Divine Mary Parish. During World War II he served in the Army.
He was preceded in death Dec. 13, 1992, by his wife, Charlotte P. Whinery.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Charlotte) Fausti of Conway and Margaret Whinery at home, a brother, Norman Whinery of Sebring; a sister, Alice Williams of Sebring; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Brown; two brothers, George and Wallace Whinery and a sister, Geneva Saner.

Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Chippewa Township.
