Mrs. Grace E. Balsley, 66, of 510 North Pittsburgh St., died at 11:25 a.m. Friday in Connellsville State General Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 8, 1898, in Bullskin Township, a daughter of the late Scott and Emma Younkin, and spent most of her life in the Connellsville area.
Surviving are six sons, Clarence E., Louis W., Fred A., Elmer E. and Robert L. of Connellsville and James E. of Normalville: a daughter, Mrs. John E. (Margie) Stewart of Connellsville; nine grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Fosbrink of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R., in 1952, a son, Charles, killed in 1945 during World War Two, and another son, William.
The body is at the Brooks funeral home, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. E. J. Hatchner officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.
