News/Obit 15 September 1960  Jean Anne Bosley Is Bride Of
Frank Vargo In Evening Rites

Prominent among the early fall weddings was that of Jean Anne Bosley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Bosley, 869 Pittsburgh St., and Frank Thomas Vargo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vargo, Umontown, RD 4, which took place Friday night, Sept, 2 at 7:30 in the Third Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. William G. Silbert officiated at the candlelight service before an altar setting of pink and white carnations, palms and ferns.

John Gabbert presided at the organ for a recital of nuptial music. He accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Molly Spangler, in her numbers "Because," "0 Promise Me" and during the ceremony she sang "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Charles Bosley, wore a floor-length gown of tulle and hand-clipped Chantilly lace, fashioned with fitted bodice of Chantilly lace, Sabrina neckline, long sleeves tapered at the wrist and bouffant skirt over taffeta and hoops with a cascade of ruffles in the back. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to a queen’s crown of lace trimmed in twists of pearls and pleated tulle accented with sequins and pearls and she carried a bridal bouquet of white feathered mums with streamers of ivy. All bridal traditions were carried out. For her "something old", she carried her great-grandmother's wedding band attached to her bouquet.

Beverly Campbell, Isabella, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Rita Bosley and Patty Vargo, both of Uniontown. the attendants were identically attired in princess style cocktail dresses of sea foam green satin, styled with bateau necklines, short sleeves, -insets of contrasting willow green shade from shoulder to hemline and full skirts with flying back panels. They completed their ensembles with headdresses of sea foam green bandeau with seed pearl trim and matching face veils and they carried bouquets of pink and white carnations with ivy.

Salvatore Lombaro, Uniontown, was best man. Ushering were Arthur Tracy and Kenneth Vargo, brother of the bridegroom, both of Uniontown.

The bride's mother chose for her daughter's wedding a beige satin suit with beige accessories and corsage of old-gold carnations. Mrs. Vargo, mother of the bridegroom, wore a fall flowered dress of taffeta with matching beige duster and rust shade carnation corsage.

Supplementing the ceremony a reception for 150 guests was held in the home of the bride’s parents. Featured at the bridal table was a four-tier wedding cake surrounded by pink and white carnations, flanked by tall pink tapers in crystal candelabra.

When the couple left for a wedding trip to Atlantic City, N. J., the bride was wearing for traveling a fall plaid sheath dress of cotton and silk with cocoa brown accessories and corsage of white mums.

The new Mrs. Vargo graduated from North Union Twp. High School, Class of 1957, and will graduate from Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing today.

Mr. Vargo graduated from North Union Twp. High School, Class of 1956, and is a sergeant in the U. S. Army Reserves. He is employed by the Little Printing Co.
