News/Obit* | 30 June 1955 | Frank Speelman Hurt When Bike Collides With Car A local youngster escaped possible serious injury Wednesday evening when his bicycle collided with an auto at the intersection of McCormick avenue and East Fayette street. Frank Speelman, 13, of Connellsville, R. D. 2, was treated at Connellsville State Hospital at 7:25 o’clock for abrasions of the left elbow received in the incident. According to police reports, Speelman failed to halt his bicycle at the intersection and ran into ihe right side of a car driven by Francis L. Lopes Of 309 1/2 W. Fayette street. News/Obit* | 9 May 1964 | F.D. Speelman Takes Bride In New Jersey Miss Barbara Grace Alexander, who resides with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sterrier in Trenton. N. J., and Frank D. Speelman. son of Mrs. Marie Speelman of the Mervis Apartments. 131 North Pittsburg St., were united in marriage on Saturday, May 2. in the Lawrence Presbyterian Church at Trenton. The Rev. Norman S. Kindt, church pastor, officiated for the ceremony at 3 p.m. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Storrier, wore a street-length dress of white organdy, and a headdress of seed pearls with a shoulder-length veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and carnations. Miss Marcia Castenova, the maid of honor and only attendant to the bride, was attired in a royal blue satin street-length dress, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Serving as the best man was William Anderson AMH, a fellow serviceman of the bridegroom in the U. S. Navy. The bridegroom's mother attended the wedding and the supplementary reception, held at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Storrier. The newlyweds spent a brief honeymoon in Connellsville and returned Friday to Trenton, where they will reside. The bridegroom, who holds the rank of aviation mechanic service second class, has served in the U. S. Navy since June, 1959. He is stationed at McGuire Air force Base, near Trenton, N. J.
