He Enlisted Jun 1778 under Captain James Higginbotham, again in
August 1778 as a Sergeant, and again in 1780 under Captain
Franklin and Captain Higginbotham. In Jun of 1781 he was a 2nd
LT under Captain John Loving. He was granted a pension in 1833,
while living in Madison Co. GA at age 72 where he had moved from
VA in 1789 with his family and that of his brother James Ware.
His Will was signed 8 Dec 1837, and proved 23 Nov 1838 in
Madison Co. GA. He left bequests to his "eldest son" Bennett
Ware; daughter Lettice Ware; daughter Judith Higginbotham; sons
Philip and Henry Ware; daughter Elizabeth Long; daughter Mary
Hobson; daughter Sarah Borum; daughter Ann Higginbotham; and son
Elisha Ware to have the home place and land if he pays his
sisters Lettice Ware, Elizebeth Long, Mary Hobson, Sarah Borum
and Gincy Strickland $50 each. The daughters were to receive a
land grant won by Edward Ware in Wayne Co. GA. To receive a
share of the residue was son Henry Ware's "legal
representatives". Executors were James Long, Philip and Elisha
Ware, and witnesses were Matthew S. Freeman, Richardson Hancock,
and William Meroney.
Edward Ware Family Bible published in Family Puzzlers 85 and 96,

Rec. Lt. Brevet, but always went by Sargent Ware. Md Sarah,
Sally Thurmond, 7 May 1782, Amherst Co. Va., died 3 Nov 1836,
Danielsville, Madison, Ga. buried in Cemetery designated in 1996
as Cem # 6 outside Danielsvill, now in middle of cow pasture and
in 1996 only Edward Ware stone was left standing, all others had
been broken or run into the ground with Cow manure all over
them. (Sad Comentary of how we treat our Heros) Anyway. William
Alexander Ware, Edward Ware and James Ware were brothers
according to McCall Vol 11, page 238 b, Amherst Co. Va.
Revolutionary soldiers who wer present at the surrender of
Cornwallis at Yorktown, Came to Georgia, William Alexander Ware
never married, lived on Lime (or Line Creek), Fayette, Co. Ga,
where he died. Edward and James lived Madison Co. Ga. I havent
