"The parish register of Gravesend records: 21 March 1616,
Rebecca Wrothe, Wyff of Thomas Wrothe, Gent., a Virginian lady
borne, here was buried in ye Chauncell. This is the burial of
Rebecca, wife of John Rolfe, also known as the native Indian
princess, Pocahontas. John Rolfe is alleged to come from the
Rolfe family of Heacham, Norfolk. There is a statue to the
memory of Pocahontas, erected at Gravesend. See Pocahontas and
Her World by Barbour for a summary of the Rolfe Family Tree.
This has some question marks over it, especially regarding the
identification of Henry Rolfe, who came to Plymouth (England) to
collect and act as guardian of Thomas Rolfe, the infant son of
John Rolfe and Pocahontas, after her death."
"Rolfe, John (1585-1622), English colonist of Jamestown,
Virginia, who was married to Pocahontas, the younger daughter of
the Native American chief Powhatan. Rolfe was born in Norfolk,
England. In 1609 he sailed to America with the expedition led by
English navigator Sir George Somers. He reached Virginia in 1610
and became a planter. Rolfe cultivated the strain of tobacco
that became Virginia's staple crop-exports of tobacco to England
provided economic stability for the colony.
In 1614 Rolfe, a widower, married Pocahontas. Their marriage
brought a time of peace between the colonists and Native
Americans that lasted for eight years. In 1616 the couple, with
their infant son, went to England. Pocahontas received a royal
reception, but she became ill and died the following year. Rolfe
returned to Virginia, where in 1621 he became a member of the
colony's first Council of State. He was killed in the massacre
of 1622."

The Bolling family is the ONLY known line of direct descendants
from Pocahontas (Amonte Matuaka AKA (Lady Rebecca Rolfe)) and
John Rolfe, they had ONE son who had ONE son. The BOLLING
family comes in after that.

"All I know about my Welsh ancestry is that after the battle of
Waterloo and after the little Corsican had been safely housed at
St. Helena, when England was no longer in need of Welsh
protection, my grandfather, Sampson Vaughan, having some
leisure, married Mary Jones, a worthy compatriot, and came to
America on his honeymoon. He bought a scrub oak farm, which I
have no doubt he called an estate, near Durham, North Carolina,
and with the aid of some negroes, spent the remainder of his
days in cultivating that weed which was introduced into England
by Sir Walter Raleigh. My father, John Vaughan, it appears, grew
tired of hoeing tobacco; and working with an uncle in Durham
became quite an expert cabinet maker. Later, wishing to see
something of the fabulous West, he enlisted in the
quartermaster's department of the United States Army and did his
bit in the construction of Forts Laramie and Kearney."
From A Doctor's Memories, autobiography of Victor Clarence
Vaughan
