Notes

"An excellent account of the Evans family is given in Southern Lineages, pages 1-86, by Mrs. Adaline (Evans) Wynn, a descendant of the Evans family.
http://www.softcom.net/users/nanascharm/genealogy/f299.htm#f147
As quoted from the book, Southern Lineages: No trace of David Evans and his son, Arden is found in Prince George County in the intervening years. In the year 1749 Arden Evans is living in Frederick County where, with his wife Susannah, he is remembered in the will of Thomas Ball. Arden Evans is made sole executor of this will. The clause 'I give to my daughter, Susannah Evans one gold mourning ring' refers unmistakenly to Arden Evans wife. Arden and Susannah Evans are untraced after 1784, as they left no wills in Pittsylvania County. It is supposed that they followed some or one of their children to a newer county and died there.
SOURCE: from the files of Cecil Little, Clanton, AL
The following information was acquired from the internet and is unconfirmed:
"Arden Evans born March 15, 1721 in Virginia, married Susannah Ball, daughter of Thomas Ball, in 1741 in Virginia. Arden Evans was the son of David Evans and Ann Arden. Arden Evans and Susannah and their son Elijah, died at the hands of Indians in North Carolina in 1752."
"Family traditions says Arden Evans and Susannah Ball Evans moved from Virginia to North Carolina. Arden, Susannah and Elijah Evans were killed by Indians in North Carolina. We would like to either prove or disprove this lineage. Any proof or disproof will be appreciated. William Evans was bound out to an unknown family until he became of age. William Evans served in the Revolution, enlisting in North Carolina and moving through South Carolina to Georgia, where he lived the remainder of his life."
