William Briscoe ( - 1831), a captain in the Revolutionary War.
Died in Madison Co. No marker. See Miller's Genealogy, p. 379.

CONFLICT: son of Philip Briscoe: "William Briscoe was born in
1750 and died in Kentucky between October 29, 1829 and January
31, 1831. He was one of the signers of the Albermarle
Declaration of Independence, 1779.
He served as Captain in the Virginia Militia during the American
Revolution.
William married Elizabeth Wallace, daughter of Andrew Wallace
and Margaret Woods.
William and Elizabeth had six children: Andrew, Pegg, Philip,
William, Parmenus and John. Each of them named a daughter after
their mother, Elizabeth Wallace."
