Mother: ALIANOR MALTRAVERS |
John d'Arundel was the son of John d'Arundel, 1st Lord Arundel
and Eleanor Mautravers, Baroness Mautravers.1 He was born on 30
November 1364.2 He married Elizabeth Despenser, daughter of
Edward Despenser, 5th Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Burghersh,
before 1385.2,3 He died on 14 August 1390 at age 25.1 He was
buried.2
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Arundel [E., 1377] on 16
December 1379, by writ, although he was never summoned to
Parliament.2
He gained the rank of officer in 1383 in the service of the
British Army in Scotland.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1388
in the service of the English Fleet.2

In the name of God amen. I Ann Moore Sen. of Elizabeth City
County, being of sound mind and disposing memory do make this
instrement of writing for my last will and testament revoking
all former wills theretofore made by me, conferming this and
none other to be my last will and testament.
Item ... I lend to my daughters, Ann King and Jane Sweeney the
whole of my properity of every kind whatsoever, together with
what I may be entitled to from my sons Merretts estate agreable
to his last will and testament in that - - - made and provided,
to be equally divided between then, and at there deaths I give
the said property so lent to be equally divided among their
children.
Item ... I give to my son William Moore whatever may be due to
me from him for the rent of the plantation whereon he now lives,
if no account should be exhibited by him against my estate and
if there should be any account exhibited by him, it is my will
and desire that my executor hereafter named should raise an
accom - - - against him for the rent of my plantation from the
year 1796 to the time of my decease, at the rate of thirty
pounds per year.
Item ... I nominate and appoint Michael King to be my Executor
to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have
hereunto sett my had and seal this 9th day of February 1801.
