George the Second. To all whom these presents shall come, Know
Ye, that for divers good Causes and Consideration but more
Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifteen
Shilling's of good lawful Money for our Use paid to our Receiver
General of our Revenues in this our Colony of Dominion of
Virginia. We have Given, Granted, and Confirmed and by these
Presents for us are Heirs and our Successors, Do Give, Grant,
and Confirm unto Jeremiah White one Certain Tract or Parcel of
Land containing one hundered and twenty four acres lying and
being in the County of Albemarle in the South Garden and bounded
as followeth, to wit; Beginning at Pointers in Abraham
Leadbetter's Line and running thence on new lines North sixty
two degrees, West twenty six Poles to a blank. North forty
degrees, East fifty Poles to a Chestnut, North seven degrees
east thirty Poles to a white Oak, North forty five degrees, East
fifty eight Poles to a Hickory. North twenty degrees west forty
Poles to Pointers. North seventy five degrees west sixty Six
Poles To a Red Oak Stephen Herd's Line and with it North thirty
degrees east fifty Poles to pointers new Lines, South fifty four
degrees east fifty Poles to a red Oak. North seventy eight
degrees East fifty Poles to a Hickory. South fifty three degrees
east fifty six Poles to a white Oak. South five degrees East one
hundered Poles to Pointers. South Seventy four degrees west
twenty four Poles to Pointers in Venable's line and with his
Lines, West twenty six Poles to a white Oak, South forty nine
degrees west one hundred and six Poles to a Corner Stone and
North ten degrees west ten Poles to the first Station. With all
& To have hold & To be held & Yeilding and Paying & Provided &
In Witness & Witnesses out Trusty and wellbeloved Robert
Dinwiddie Esquire, our Lietenant Governor and Commander in chief
of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburgh. Under the Seal

of Jeremiah White -- Albemarle County, Virginia 27 November
1774/May 1777
In the name of God Amen the twenty seventh day of November in
the year of Our Lord One thousand seventh hundred and seventy
four. I Jeremiah White of the County of Albemarle and parish of
St. Annes, being very sick and weak of body, but of perfect and
sound memory thanks be to God for the same, and calling to mind
the uncertainty of this life and knowing that it is appointed
for all men once to die, do make and ordain this and no other,
my Last Will and Testament, and as touching such worldly estate
wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me within this life, I
give devise & dispose of the same in the manner & form following
that is to say, in the first place I will & order that all my
lawful debts be paid. Item;
I give them bequeath to my eldest son Jeremiah White my great
Bible and a trunk covered with seal skin.
Item; I give to my son John Martin White one feather bed and
furniture, one young cow and the smooth bor'd gun which he now
has in custody.
Item; I give and bequeath to my son Daniel White one feather bed
with its furniture, and one young cow. Item;
I give and bequeath to my youngest son Reuben White one feather
bed and furniture, one cow and her increase, which bed and cow
he now has in his possession; also one smooth bor'd gun his
choice of the guns I now have.
Item; I leave to my dear and well beloved wife Mary White all
the remainder of my estate, one black mare and yearling colt,
Land and movable's during her natural life or widowhood, and at
my said wife's death or marriage, the above said mare and colt,
Land and premises which Land contains one hundered and seventy
five acres, it being the Land whereon I now live, I give and
bequeath to my son Reuben White and his heirs and assigns
forever.
Item; I leave to my daughter Letty Melton five Schilling's and
nine pence.
Item; I give to my daughter Betty Kidd one feather bed and
furniture at my wife's decease and to my daughter Mary Martin
one chest and to my daughter Milley Cleveland I bequeath five
Schilling's and nine pence.
Item; I give them bequeath to my daughter Ann Shackleford one
black walnut chest at my wife's decease, as for my carpenters
tools I leave them for the use of the Plantation, and at my
wife's death or marriage to belong to my son Reuben White, and
my Cooper's tools and my great coat, I give to my son John
Martin White at my decease.
Item; I give to my grandson George Martin twenty Schilling's to
be paid him by my son Reuben, also one heifer.
Item; I constitute and appoint my loving wife Mary White and my
son Reuben to be the soul executors of this my last Will and
Testament and do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannual
all and other former testament's wills & legacies requisels and
executors by me at any time before this named, willed &
bequeathed, ratifying & confirming this to be my last Will and
testament, in Witness whereof I have herewith set my hand &
affixed my seal, the day & year first within written.
