CONFLICT: don't agree with james tinsley/ sarah rucker being the
son of john tinsley of amherst co. If you check you will see
that john's son james is well accounted for in that area until
his death. It is more likely that the james who married sarah
rucker is the son of edward tinsley jr. of madison co, va.

The 4 Nov 1807 power of attorney from James TINSLEY has several
witnesses of note: John TINSLEY (died 1817) had sons Oliver and
Edward TINSLEY. Nicholas WEST was a son-in-law of John TINSLEY.
The 1809 power of attorney has as witnesses three sons of the
same John TINSLEY.

135.5 acres border of Hinkston on Somerset border. Lines:

per Joe Downing obit in Lynchburg newspaper. The Wills of
Amherst Co. VA, The Rev Bailey Fulton Davis p. 357: James
Tinsley had apparently purchased the tract of land including the
house that at one time belonged to Jno Tinsley. Amherst Co. VA
Will Bk 5, P 657-9. James is named as son of John TINSLEY.
