  • RESIDENCE: Williamsburg, and James City Co. VA
  • OCCUPATION: Said To Be A Wealthy Merchant From England
  • BIRTH: ABT 1690, James City Co. Virginia
  • DEATH: 21 Jun 1736, James City Co. Virginia

Family 2 : Catherine "KAIDYEE" WELDON
  1.  Mary BLAIKLEY
  2. +Jeanette Carson BLAIKLEY
  3. +Elizabeth BLAIKLEY

Notes

Aka: Blakley.
Per his will signed February 10, 1733/4:
Item: I give into my Son Will Blaikley that hundred acres of land in Pohatten left to me by his grandmother, Mrs Sarah Weldon.
Item: I give unto my son William one Shiling Sterling money.
Item: I give unto my dear children James, Mary and Jannet Carson Blaikley one Shilling Sterling money to each of them and my daughter Elizabeth.

Because he so clearly left one thing to Will and then lumped the others together in the gift of one shilling each, I conclude that William and Will may not be the same person. In fact, because of the reference to "his grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Weldon" and other oblique data, I wonder whether Mr. Blaikley had a first wife nee Weldon and early deceased..."
James is not mentioned again.

PZ: Apparently Jannet Carson Blaikley married Thomas Thompson Swann and
Elizabeth Blaikley married Rev. Robert McLaurine, and of their respective children Mary Elizabeth Swann and William McLaurine (first cousins) later married.
