#11. Richard Owen (1686-1756) has been called the "Patriarch of
Southside Virgina" by C. Owen Johnson, noted Owen genealogist
and founder of the Owen Family Association. Richard was probably
born in England/Wales, was in Goochland Co., VA, as early as
1720 and died in Halifax Co., VA. His many descendants are
discussed in the Owen Family Newsltrs. of 1991-92 (Vols.6 & 7).
Lineage extracted from the above newsltrs. and a chart from Mrs.
Patricia McKay, 215 Steele Rd., A115, West Hartford, CT 06117, a
descendant of Richard's son, James.
