Thomas JONES is a major player in this as our Thomas sold half
of his father's plantation to him after court decision - 1768 I
think (need to look it up). There are several land transactions
with our Thomas and Thomas JONES. Also another one we need to
determine - who is Thomas CARROLL? He was witness and surety on
marriage record of our Tom and Margaret JONES. I am wondering
if perhaps he wasn't guardian of Margaret and Thomas JONES
perhaps Margaret's brother. Nathan JONES (d. 1798 Green Co. GA)
is likely related somehow but not likely to be father of our
Margaret and was alive and well when they got married. Much
speculation of course - we need more records.
Wit on marriage bond: Thomas CARROLL. Who is this Thomas
CARROLL??? Was Margaret's father dead by this time? Surely
Nathan Jones fits into her lineage somehow though definitely
not parents of our Margaret. Need more records of JONES in
Chowan Co., NC.
