Eliza Henry Preston b.8-11-1796 d.1-11-1877, second child of Gen. Francis and Sally Campbell Preston, was born in Saltville, VA. She married General Edward Codrington Carrington, who was given a medal for gallant services in the War of 1812. She died in Charlottesville, VA. They had 6 children:

William's Will dated 2 Feb 1806 Apt 45 pkg 1900, Edgefield Cty, SC.: "In the name of God, Amen! I, William Stallworth, Sr, of Edgefield District, State of South Carolina, being at present of perfect mind and memory, praise be therefore to Almighty god, do make, Constitute and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following:
IMPRIMIS: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Jemima, the full benefit and profits of my plantation where on I now live, to occupy and enjoy the same during her natural life or marriage, and also the use of the following negros, viz - Aaron, the eldest and Aaron the younger, Peter, the oldest and Peter, the younger, during her natural life or widowhood; also a negro woman named Lucy and a boy named Jack, during her natural life or widowhood, and the profit arising from the said plantation; deducting always what may sufficiently support her and the family that may live with her, and dividing equally among that part of my family which may be living, share and share alike.


I give and bequeth to my son Nicholas, that tract of land where on he now lives, and all the land I own adjoining the said tract, with the exception of a part lying between Beaver Dam Creek and the Quaker Road, which said last part and parcel of land so reserved, I give to my grandson, William Thornton, a minor. Also, I give further to said minor, a horse worth $100.00, to be given him when he reaches the year of majority.


I give to my son Joseph, at the decease of my wife, all that part and parcel of land being part of the tract where on I now live to be divided as follows: beginning at a black oak--Corner on Mathis Road, and running in a straight line to the land of Benjamin Burton, with all my blacksmith and carpenters tools, and also, one horse to be worth $100.00, one cow and calf, and $100.00 in cash to be taken from the profits of the plantation.


The balance of the land whereon I now live, must be equally divided between my daughters, Sally and Nancy, after the death of my wife, I give to my daughter Betsy, a cow and calf, and in case of her ever having any issue, an equal divided of the rest of my personal estate to faill to her children, but , not to be at the disposal of her husband.


IN WITNESS THEREOF, I hereby set my hand and seal this second day of February, 1806, and I further appoint my two sons Nicholas and Joseph together with James Adams, my executors of this my last will and testament.
